This thread will be used for tracking all open coaching jobs, and all of those jobs as they are filled. If anyone has information on a new job coming open, any updates on an ongoing coaching search, or finds out a job has been filled, please feel free to start a new thread on the opening/filled position. If there is a thread already out there, don't hesitate to add your info. We're all glad to hear it.

I will link the thread for each open/filled job to streamline your searching.

Open Jobs/Filled Jobs 2024-2025

Added a  podcast shoutout @Colonels_Wear_Blue on tracking the job openings and getting filled. Appreciate you. Thank you!

We've officially got 40 jobs that have opened up around the state as of today, January 9th.

I do a mid-term report each year on February 14th for how many jobs are open and how many are filled. At an average 30.5 open jobs on February 14th over the last 11 years, we're definitely ahead of the curve this year with open jobs. There's also been an average of 19.3 jobs filled by February 14th in the past 11 years, so with 17 current filled jobs right now, I'd say we're ahead of the curve in that number as well.

High-water mark for total jobs that turned over in a year is 54 in 2015 & 2024, both, and we've been north of 40 jobs turning over in 8 of the 11 past years.

We talked to Coach Josh Abell for our podcast after he resigned from Fern Creek. He was very complimentary of the Fern Creek Administration.

Chuck asked hm why there are so many open HFC jobs in JCPS.

He said JCPS is plagued w/ solving the problems of Louisville. And...."starts w/ better leadership and more support for athletics as a whole."

Coach Abell is looking to get into administration. Would love to see him in a JCPS role where he could impact HS football across the city. He is knowledgeable, experienced and genuinely cares about the kids. I am choosing to be optimistic about the future of JCPS football.

A couple days behind on posting this, but here's my annual February 14th mid-term report on football open jobs:
