Looks like the job was posted to the school district's employment portal on Friday.

Randel Parmley from Glasgow would be a great hire at Warren East. I truly believe that guy could get the program turned around.

I agree. Old school hard working guy, but young and enthusiastic. He’s around 30 years old and lives in BG now. Hopefully coach Arnett at Glasgow can keep him around. He’s been at Glasgow around 5 years now. Also a math teacher. I wonder if he’s interested in leaving?

I’m surprised the Herron guy from Glasgow hasn’t been mentioned yet. He seems to have been mentioned for every other job in the state on here lol. Far too young of a guy though for a head job, in my opinion. But, he did appear to do a great job calling the defense for the Scotties this past season. 

He was mentioned a lot when they talked about the job potentially being open. I wonder what his thoughts are. 

One would think Tony Adams would be interested. He has been with Greenwood awhile.

 

Any updates on this job? Need to know if we need to open a search party for new Glasgow assistant since they keep getting brought up.

Haven’t heard much of nothing, Brad Hood possibly? Which didn’t make sense when it was mentioned to me but maybe a change of scenery could be good for a coach who just had his worst outing in 20 years with the Patriots. I like the Tony Adams mention unsure if he’d leave the Greenwood program though. AD Barnett just worked with Coach Smith and the Spartans, I think getting a former Raider would be a solid approach. It’s been rather quiet on the North side of town though, not a serious job. Administration is a thorn in the side to those they don’t see as a friend.

I believe Warren East needs the head coach to be in the building and to have some prior head coaching experience. Administration can be and issue especially if you don’t know how to deal with the lack of support and the headaches they may bring.

Warren East is a tough job. It would take someone to come in and change the culture of the program, which would take support from administration. From The outside looking in, I question this administrations support. I think they need a proven head coach to turn the program around.

East is an excellent job in the scheme of what coaches should be looking for:

1. Location - A coach once said to me, it is a lot better to get beat in Bowling Green, where after the loss you can go to O'Charlies, and nobody cares, than to lose in some small town where after the game only the Sonic is open and because you lost, you ain't welcome to get a corn dog. 
2. Facilities - Seems like everyone has turf these days, but that's not the case. East has turf, a fully built fieldhouse, a state-of-the-art weight room, and all the resources that come with a large district. 
3. Pay - East, as part of a big district, is a fair-paying job with adequate stipends for assistants. The salary schedule for teaching far exceeds that of many of the smaller counties that surround the BG/WC area. 
4. Access to Assistants - With WKU in the backyard and a massive school system to draw from, not to mention a strong presence of the Northern Warren Co. community filled with former East players, finding quality assistant coaches is MUCH easier at East than at many other places.  
5. Players - East is prone to runs of kids who make it a formidable school, even in talent-rich 4A. The Raiders have been absolutely stockpiled with talent several times in the last couple of decades. It will happen again. 
6. Schedulability - You can build a reasonable schedule at East. Most schools will still play the Raiders, which is critical during those lean years.
