Great write up! What do you believe to be the factors to the Purples getting pushed round, not gelling as a defensive unit and losing the “close” games they historically have been able to pull out? Can those factors be amended going into the 2026 season?

Does anyone know Kevin Wallace’s record while the HC for the Warren East football team?

I believe Warren East needs the head coach to be in the building and to have some prior head coaching experience. Administration can be and issue especially if you don’t know how to deal with the lack of support and the headaches they may bring.

A lot of teams have used Bowling Green as a measuring stick this year…definitely a down year for the purples.

We are still waiting to hear who he believes the top teams in 5A are...

I do not think they are difficult to figure out. The mustangs are averaging only 8 points/game(against teams with a pulse) and have turned the ball over multiple times. Seems to me that they don't have the ability to score points. It looks like they play reasonable defense but I believe in some of their losses the Mustang offense has given up more points than they have scored. They probably need to get some things figured out on the offensive side of the ball!

I do not believe a young first time head coach would fare well at Warren East High either.

What's the word on Goodin? Injured? Return to play?

I'd say its a B- job. There's a lack in support from the administration and the community. Every few years there will be a run of talented kids that come through if you can keep them from transferring to other schools in the county.
