  1. @DragonFire I know it’s been long time since somebody other than BG or Central has won the 4th region, who was the last to do it?
  2. @RealHoops it’s a team sport, that Region Championship was in the name of Butler County not just Ty Price. Hope we can do it again next year!
  3. @RealHoops If you believe shooting 5-20 in the state tournament was the selfless Ty Price that we saw all season by all means have at it. Henderson County? What was he 5-29 from the field in a 20 point loss at home? Since you like statistics, let me give you a fun one. Outside of Lawson Rice (381 attempts) the other 3 starters combined had 724 attempts this year, Ty Price alone shot 718. I sure hope somebody would be able to get the production he does with that egregious amount of volume. I agree he is a talented player but I don’t believe he is able to grasp the fact that he makes the other guys around him better by being able to create the way he can. If he did understand that he wouldn’t be having nights like we saw the other day, he would’ve passed up a good shot for a great one. Even in his post game interview he commented that they were attacking him, well yeah son they know you want to shoot the ball no matter what and good basketball teams won’t allow one player to dictate the game (unless your Trent Noah). That’s why I call out the selfish outing for what it is, trust your teammates Castleen and Rice were playing great all night. Go Bears!
  4. @DragonFire while I do agree they played a track meet style all year long, not a single team shot 50% from deep against the cats this year.
  5. SEC 1-3 in tourney play as of now (barring the Vols blow a 30pt lead), pretty wild considering how strong I believed the conference to be. Guess it was just a bunch of average teams beating average teams on random nights. I thought this team was talented enough to make a run but showed inconsistency all year and that’s what we got tonight. However you won’t show me many teams who have been able to overcome a team shooting 15-30 from the arc either, tough loss for sure. Maybe we will see Sheppard in the Blue & White next year after all.
  6. @Waterboy70 I agree and I’m sure they were hoping he’d finally see one go through, I know I was too.
  7. Overall I’m pleased with what the Bears have accomplished this season and I felt as though they held their own in the game this afternoon against a very good Evangel Christian team. On the other hand, Ty Price with the most selfish outing of the season in the most important game of the season. Disappointed a player of that caliber doesn’t have the ability to understand if it’s not going your way you can’t keep forcing it and continue putting your team in a worse position, I suppose you can also put that on coaching as well. The Bears will be back next year, with the same starting 5 that will all be SR’s, hopefully a different result in Rupp next March.
  8. UCONN is ridiculously good and not only that, they can put in a whole new 5 in the game and be just as lethal. Last year they caught the majority of people by surprise, that is no longer the case so they will more than likely see the best versions of their opponents. If they play to their capability they’ll make another route in the tournament. It irks me to say this but I do like UK’s chances given the draw of the South Region, they have the talent just the matter of it all coming together at the right moments. I also wouldn’t mind to see them Volunteers make a run, and I believe it’s possible. For one reason it is long overdue for any sort of success in the basketball department but they have the experience to do so and a very talented team.
  9. Jon Elmore, that name won’t ever leave my brain, he was filthy for the Thundering Herd.
  10. First time the Tops go dancing in over a decade, what a wild realization.
  11. Not too familiar with Evangel, know they have 4 seniors and a freshman carrying the work load, some good wins against pretty solid competition. Butler County will be back in this position next year, this will just be a taste for what is to come. The Bears will return everybody, and they have a damn good duo with Price & Rice who are both JRs, very exciting team that looks to score the ball quickly. The fan support the Bears will have at Rupp Thursday afternoon will be electric, especially considering their coming from a community of roughly 12,000. Best of luck to both teams!
  12. A Great Crossing state championship with a +100 scoring margin over the 4 game stretch at Rupp. 100% rooting for Butler County to pull of an upset over Evangel. Would like to see those Dragons from Warren Central win a couple games as well. Trinity is the pick on the lower half, but I believe it to be more likely they don’t make the finals opposed to Great Crossing.
