The 4th down decision by Greenwood will be scrutinized, I’m sure, but I really do think it was the right call, just Bowling Green executed better.

I do wonder what might have been for Greenwood if they played this game say, three weeks ago.

The Gators really came to play but the Purples resilience at the end is why they’ve been a top tier program in the State for quite a bit of time. Chaney should’ve been more involved earlier in the game but maybe keeping him fresh after a physical 1H was the best idea, he ran rampant in the 2H. I wouldn’t scrutinize the 4th down call from Howard but personally with the way the defense was playing I have a hard time not punting the ball away and going to OT. Make them drive the field, either way it was a great game, they deserve to host a playoff game this year.

BG is running out of time to turn this around….not to say anything bad on Greenwood, but if you want to compete with the big 3 on the other side of the bracket, you need to show a bit more dominance in my opinion.

Think you’re being a little harsh on the Gators. They have a pretty good football team, but I do agree the brand of football the Purples played tonight isn’t State championship caliber.

Tip of the hat to the Gators!

They outplayed BG IMO. But couldn’t make it stick.
For GW, Chaney is a beast and a very underrated RB.
The GW defense aim My battles all night.
Greenwood was well coaches and VERY Hungry.
BUT to get a win in this series, you have to convert that 4th and short.  Plain and simple.
For BG, The defense played well in the 1st half, then got worn down due to be out there ALot. But they rose to the occasion when they needed to.
The BG offense had a lot of problems and while GW certainly caused many of them, if BG can’t reduce their holding penalties they won’t be around long. Those penalties negated big plays. So that is number one to fix. I love Anthony Davis, but he is still a FR and will make mistakes. He made some great throws tonight and some plays he needs to improve on. He isn’t alone.
SR RB Trey Graham had perhaps his best game as a Purple and may have saved the day with his tough running.
And SR Kicker Oliver Gonzales had the biggest kick as a football Purole after winning the soccer region tournament the night before.

This game proves to me if you don’t come with your best effort you can lose and BG nearly did. I feel bad for the GW kids, but tip my hat to them out of respect.

On to Greyson County!

Poor BG will have to try and limp in the playoffs and hopefully not get pummeled by this big 3 you speak of. Other teams can rest easy!

Did Barber play for BG?

Right, if he played that’s a pretty concerning for the Purples unless GW just has a special squad this year.

Barber played and he played well.

I know there is some surprise about the score, but Greenwood has a solid defense and some nice players. They played a great game.

They gave South Warren a game so looks like they get up for those Warren County powers.

Yawn... this was the talk all year out of Highlands and Cooper last year. Scott Co. had to beat BG on a last drive of the game when BG didn't have Barber. I hardly think BG is quaking in their shoes at the thought of any of the "big 3"... of which, only Cooper has even been to Kroger Field.
