O has to keep up with the intensity. The Eagles can score in a hurry if you give them just a little breathing room.

As much as I would love to have Gway in right now. Biggs is getting some very meaningful reps and gaining confidence. He's having a heck of a game. But I'm most surprised by the defense. If you would've told me that the Devils would shut out the Eagles in the first half I wouldn't have believed it. Max Johnson is seeing a pass rush that he's yet to see all season.

I believe so too. I doubt he plays. Not sure I even want him playing yet.

If this is true and we're really healthy. I like the devils by a few scores.

In terms of score OC blasted OHS. In terms of yardage/production, the score is not a good indicator of how close the Aces vs Devils game truly was. Turnovers were a killer also. So using the scores of the Eagles vs Aces and the Devils vs Aces won't do you any good. Don't know what to expect from the Devils this week. With all the injuries and loss to OC, they have lost a-lot of their lust. If the Devils come amped and ready to play. Executing and taking care of the ball I don't see why they wouldn't win this one going away. A win by 35 or a win by 7 doesn't matter just need to win for good RPI until everyone is back healthy. However if this becomes a high scoring affair I'd have to give the edge to Apollo. Without Gway at QB O just doesn't have the consistency on offense to win a shoot out.

Was game canceled?

Not trying to take anything away from OC but they are by no means 28 points better than O. Had G'way been there this game looks totally different. Thing is he's not and we have to use who we have. The Devils need to work on how they handle adversity. Too many heads down after only being down one score. But the BIGGEST issue of all is. We aren't near as physical as we were last year. O needs to take a deep look within moving forward.

Owensboro looks lethargic. Not playing anything near what they are capable of. Athletes every where and no way to get it to them. QB 2 has no sense of urgency. Coach's have a lot of work to do. Still plenty of season to get better. Hope G'way comes back soon though if we want to have any real chance at making a run in the playoffs.

Having Green back at Safety is big for the Devils. He's potentially the best safety in the District. Hard hitting run stopper and will make you think twice before catching it up the middle. He's as important to the secondary as Ashley is to the Linebacker core. Interested to see how this game plays out. Without much of a run game from OC does O rush 3 or 4 and send everyone in coverage and clog passing lanes? As good as OC QB is, 7-8 in coverage will be hard to throw on consistently. Conversely how will OC choose to attack the Devils? Do they rush the young QB in hopes of overwhelming him; Leaving Dillard, Shemwell, Fountain and Bryant in single coverage? Do they play cover 2 and let Walker run all over gods creation? Personnel wise I just don't see how this game stays close. But it's a big time Rivalry and since 2020 probably a top3 match up in western KY so anything can happen. Really excited for this one as it could be the Devils last true test before the post season. Is it Friday yet?

Could SC beat St. X?.. It's really hard to do team comparisons in that manner. Just because you would score doesn't mean you would be any closer to beating them than O would. CAL is just O's complete weakness. The level of talent they possess no team in 5A comes close to having. I agree O vs SC would be a good game. Hope it happens this year.

6 wks out from what I'm told... Even with line ups as is. I'm not sure SC could stop our offense.

I get it, the offense is tough. But they also let a young BG offense score 40+. This ranking is pretty much saying there is only a 1 score separation between the #1 and #7. Have to say I disagree. I think SC would struggle with Pulaski's and a healthy Owensboro's run defense but the SC defense wouldn't be able to stop either teams offense. With all due respect to BG; SC hasn't played anybody of meaningful stature. The teams they've beat have a combined record of 2-7 allowing an avg of 30 ppg..

Hearing the Devils will be at full strength on defense. Which means Green, Ashley and Hinton back. OC is a fine 2A programs that you have to respect. Theres just too many horses on this Devils squad for the Aces to keep up. The Aces will move the ball and maybe even score a few times. Just not sure they can keep pace with the weapons O has on offense. Biggs when given time drops the ball in the basket! Against DC he tied the school record for most touchdowns thrown in a game(6). If he's able to get the ball to playmakers I look for O to make a statement in this game. Devils 56 OC 28

Wowww 41 points on just 196 yards of total offense is crazy. The game wasn't nearly as close as the score would indicate. OC will have to be balanced to keep the devils honest. This Friday will be a good 1. Can't even remember the last time the Devils beat the Aces at Steele Stadium.

Yeah I was in doubt of Apollo at first, but they are actually pretty good. Just need to tighten up the defense a bit. 3 games into the season and nobody has stopped the Eagles offense yet.. As far as O'Cath and OHS that will be a good battle. Nobody has been able to stop O'Cath offense either. Boyle just out paced the Aces. Looks like the Devils will have to do the same. If I'm the Aces I'd be a little worried throwing it around so much vs the Devils w/o a run game for the Devils to respect. Recipe for INT's.

They're a national level team. Easily a top 100 team in the nation.
