The Yellow Jackets of Woodford County(4-1), hit the road again after a bye week to start district play in Crestwood to take on the Dragons of South Oldham(1-5 0-1). South Oldham comes in off a 27-20 loss to Anderson County.

Nope father went after it was already Woodford County. They honored this team my senior season of 2002 for their 40th anniversary of winning the state title. Several of the players and head coach spoke to us that week after practice and during team meal. Midway high school blue jays won the state basketball championship in 1937 as well, there use to be a banner for it hanging in the Woodford County high gym had a team picture on it.

Technically Versailles high school which became Woodford County high school won the class A state title in 1962. Versailles high absorbed Midway and Simmons high schools in 1964 to become Woodford County high school. Versailles High was the main high school in the Woodford County district, midway was just the midway area kids, and Simmons was the African American school before it was fully integrated in the early 1960's.

The Yellow Jackets of Woodford County (3-0), hit the road to Munford, Tennessee located just north of Memphis to take on the Munford High cougars(3-0). This is the second meeting of these two schools with Munford winning last season 49-35 in a barn burner that saw Woodford turn the ball over 3 times inside their own red zone that turned the game around. Munford comes in with two wins on the season it shutouts 58-0 and 61-0. Munford is ranked 40th in the state of Tennessee, 6th in Tennessee 5A, and 17th in the Memphis area according to max preps.

The Yellow Jackets of Woodford County (2-0) travel over to Georgetown to take on the Warhawk's of Great Crossing (0-2). Woodford was on the struggle bus for the first half against Bourbon County, before shutting them out in the second half. Woodford has had some early season struggles with a new offensive and defensive coordinator this season. Great Crossing comes in off a loss to crosstown rival Scott County, and opening week loss to GRC.

Woodford has new offensive and defensive coordinators, so early season struggles are to be expected. Will take a few games to get everything going, they had one scrimmage, and now 2 games so far to make adjustments and learn.
