Culture changer

I've got a name and he’s been there/done that at Warren East.

Rhymes with Bevin Callus.

Does anyone know Kevin Wallace’s record while the HC for the Warren East football team?

Kevin Wallace was 45-61 (42.5% winning) in 10 seasons as head coach at Warren East. They fired him after finishing the 1993 season with the worst season record during his decade there, and he headed on as an assistant at Bowling Green the following season. Warren East hired Randy Reese to replace Wallace the following season. Reese had won the 1975 Class A championship at Ludlow in his first year as a head coach, and went on to Paris where he won the 1981 & 1982 Class A championships before moving on to Henderson County where he took over as head coach of the Colonels in the 1987. Reese's move to Warren East came after being let go by Henderson County following his 1-9 finish with the Colonels in the 1993 football season.

I think WE has far more talent then back then for whatever reason they had low end players then something changed in the early 2000s I don’t know exactly what but they started getting better players and have actually had some pretty good teams since then.

Ben Bruni changed that program. He got the talent to stay, got them to buy in.  Both region titles for the program came in his tenure. It came at an opportune time and they've also attracted players since then as well.

Anything on who the next head coach will be ?

I think they will be having interviews in the next week or two weeks. I heard there was 56 applicants and a lot of qualified people. Unsure who is the favorite. Any ideas on who the favorite might be?

@VF111 hit a lot of strong points earlier in this thread, doesn’t seem too far fetched for this job to gain that sort of attention. What worries me is the fact only 2 of the 5 head coaches in the last 25 years have had success and longevity in their stints on Louisville road. One of those in Coach Bruni was selected by a totally different administration and to be frank the school is completely different. While they did upgrade the field, weight room, and school itself, a lot of tradition left that door when Coach stepped down in 2012. I laugh at the situation they’ve created, every away team that comes to the Smurf Turf gets a little extra juice to beat these Raiders because of what they have. Not a reflection of the community nor has it benefited the players who have came through the program, just soft, from the principal to the freshman linebacker. The facilities weren’t earned, it was just the school district trying to pity the north side kids after they put them on the back burner for years to cater to the money in the South and upstart their school.

WE RA!

Have to get somebody in the building who can get back to the tradition of what it is to be a Raider. A lot of these candidates are trying to use the job as a stepping stone, would be an awful decision by this administration. Pivotal hire, I’ll guess the job will open up again in 2 years and yours truly will be applying that next go around.

Their schedule looks brutal this year also... district with PT, Logan, and FS don't do them many favors. FS has been competitive as of late.

I would think with all the growth in industry on that side of the county there would be new subdivisions going up in the area. Thus in theory attracting talent. I know in the past there have been many talented kids that lived in the district that decided to go to school elsewhere too.

Hearing names like Jason Foley (Southwestern), Matthew Chandler (Hazard), and Randal Parmley (Glasgow assistant). Anyone else?

Anyone hearing anything on this job?

They've started interviews. Had some this past weekend.
