Coach Kozerski is stepping down due to personal reasons. 

 

No clue who would be the front runner. 

I hope he or whomever is ok. 

I hate this. Genuinely worried we’re gonna run out of coaches, the good guys keep walking away. 

Adam produced good things at Brossart. If you consider the feathers that the principal and athletic director ruffled by surreptitiously shuffling Paul Wiggins out the door and then add in the fact that Kozerski was the fourth coach to be offered the job at Brossart, I think he certainly exceeded expectations.

I echo the sentiment that I hope everyone is okay in whatever situation Adam's personal reason is referring to, but admittedly there is a part of me that wonders if his personal reason was simply not being cut out for the head coaching lifestyle. I still remember exactly when I was told he had applied for the job because of how much of a surprise it was to hear that he was even interested to be a head coach at all. He never had struck me as the type, and frankly he still doesn't strike me as fitting the archetypal 'head coach' mold.

Seems like “I love you but…”. 
 

 

The good guys don’t keep walking away. They messed up when they fired Coach Wiggins. Hope the powers to be are happy with the new direction the Brossart football program is headed.

Coach Koz did a very admirable job with the kids and the program as a whole when it came to results. But it is my personal opinion, that when the regime change (Wiggins to Koz) happened, he struggled to capitalize on the momentum that Wiggins had built. There was a major culture shift. 

 

Kids in the lower program began looking elsewhere. The administration at Brossart better take note. 

 

The next hire better be ready from day one to:

1. Stoke energy in the youth program

2. Develop what is in the program (there is talent there) 

3. Recruit (there will be opportunities for a lot of playing time) 

4. Energy infusion (this area with its feeders can support football, but they have to infuse that into the feeder schools) 

 

 

The 8th grade team played for the league championship this season and only lost 6-0. To were was a very good Brossart crowd there. You’re saying there is already lack of interest after less than 365 days of a coaching change at the varsity level?

Yeah. Brossart is losing kids from feeder schools that are on their front porch. 

 

The varsity team loses 12 seniors this year from a program that totaled maybe 35 kids. There's probably another 3-4 underclassmen that won't be coming back out for the team. The next 4-5 years are going to be rough unless Brossart can hire a salesman. 

You think they'll try to court EE again?

Is there an explanation as to why this is happening?

That’s crazy to me. Was this happening before Wiggins was let go and just snowballed since or it was immediate once Kozerski took over?

Depending who you ask, you will get varied explanations 

I'm not entirely sure when this began, some of these issues could've been there pre-Koz but in the last couple years it has snowballed. Whatever some of those issues are (culture, energy, lack of development, etc) they are issues that are being seen/felt by the middle school feeders.

Sorry to hear that.  I thought they were taking the program on the cusp of breaking through.
