Allen Mitchell was named the new head football coach at Lynn Camp High School, officials announced Wednesday.

Mitchell had coached South Laurel previously, leading the Cardinals for two seasons before resigning in 2023.

Mitchell replaces Darrell Hendrix, who had been the Wildcats coach for the past three seasons.

The Lynn Camp alum has nearly 30 seasons of coaching experience, which includes multiple district and regional championships.

He also was a part of Lynn Camp’s 2003 Regional Championship team.
