After Simon Vanderpool stepped down as head coach of the Wolverines this past January, Pete Combs was immediately named interim head coach before being officially named head coach of the football program a month later. Then at the beginning of the 2025 football season, Coach Combs was quietly ousted as head football coach and offensive coordinator Matthew Dawahare stepped in as interim head coach for the season.

Now that the football season is over for the Wolverines, Western Hills has officially listed the job as open on their employment portal as of November 10th.

Informally, some of their supporters have reached out to Georgetown All American, Kenan McWhorter. Kenan coached our WRs & DBs this past fall at Anderson County. His knowledge base and ability to relate to kids is through the roof. I would hate to lose him, but he would be a great hire for the Wolverines.
