Open Job: Pulaski County

With Travis Burns taking the Mercer job, who's on the short list here?

I'd think Josh Roberts gets first nod. Current OC. Was Johnny Hines DC.

Tim Rose got interviewed last time, he's currently Southwestern's Middle School HC.

Genuinely shocked this morning. I never question a coach leaving schools, because I do not know their motives, but on the outside looking at it, just wow.

My son is on the team and this morning wasn't easy on the kids or Coach Burns. Like I told him when opportunity knocks in life you either open the door and leave it shut, Mercer came and knocked with a 10lb sledge hammer and offered Coach Burns a crazy good offer that he couldn't turn down.

Did Pulaski have a chance to rebuttal and not?

How do you rebut $100k to teach weights and coach, AND have a closer drive from home, which leads to more family time?  Pulaski didn't have a chance if that is truly the offer.

BGP is not a clearinghouse for talk of possible/anticipated student transfers.

BGP is not allowing the terms "portal" or "transfer portal" in the high school forums to describe student-athletes moving schools for whatever reason.

If you have credible information regarding a transfer you are welcome to share it, but it must include the following qualifying information:  the athlete's name, their position played, and the schools they are transferring to/from.

4. No recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA – Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

6. No putting incorrect or false information on the site.

This is a nightmare for Pulaski.

I agree and I assume it is only a matter of time before more and more schools start offering "big money" with few or no teaching responsibilities for top high school football coaches.

I’d say Pulaski will have a ton of interest. However, Pulaski does not pay their teachers as much as some surrounding counties. Some coaches would have to take a pay cut to go there.

To me- it feels like Josh Roberts will get the job this time around.

Any chance a former coach in the county would leave his team and return?

Jason Foley?

I would think Josh Roberts is a good option. Knows system and kids. Wouldn’t be much change or fall off.

Predicting interim tag for Roberts. Season goes well- he becomes official. Season doesn’t live up to expectations then it opens up as soon as season is over.

Tom Greer and Jason Foley has some legs to it.

I still predict Roberts at this moment, but there have been some conversations with all 3 of these coaches.

How much bloom is still on Foley's rose? His tenure at Southwestern took a nosedive at the end.
