There is a great head on video shot that shows fumble before down, Pikeville player recovers and AFTER he recovers cleanly, hit and Belfry player gets it in scrum. Should have been Pikeville ball.

Now, don't let it fool you. I'd still want to beat Belfry any day of the week and twice on Sundays. 🤣

Glad you're such a great sport, Watusi! I agree, it's good for the soul! Now that it's over, I can say best of luck to the Pirates the rest of the way. Genuinely hope y'all bring another title back to the mountains, and hopefully Pikeville can as well. In all seriousness, severs people have commented about football in the mountains and there is just nothing like it. Living in CKY now and attending games here, it is such a disappointment sometimes. The atmosphere and so forth rarely seems as charged as it is in EKy. Miss my mountain Friday nights for sure!

I'm technically "half-Belfrian" since my mother graduated from there, but you won't catch me claiming to be anything but a Panther on Pikeville-Belfry nights, I don't care if it is checkers I want Pirates plank-walked. Suffice to say, no love lost for me with Belfry either. All that being said, I truly believe this is one of the more balanced games to see tonight. Belfry has good speed, appear to be buying into their coach, and obviously are playing in tribute to Haywood. Pikeville is on a mission to reassert themselves as the original Beast of the East again and played pretty well against Johnson Central this past week. All things considered, I believe this game is a two score game because of the leg of Santes from Pikeville, so give me Panthers by 10 but I wouldn't be shocked if it is more.

Mistakes name of the game tonight. 34-0 right now. Jags need a break to go their way. Pass D has just flopped horribly tonight after doing a solid job this early part of the year.

New returner. Tomcats choose to kick to other one returned to the 40. Roll out right caught and a stiff arm and across the 50 to the 48. Freshman Ty Ray (21) takes the handoff over RG spot, runs over LB for 8. Next play over LG and picks up the 1st down. Jags moving now. 1st down on the 38. Roll out to the left caught by sophomore Ira Robinson (16) for 8 more. 2nd and 2. Ty Ray up middle. Minimal gain of about a yard. 3rd and short 1. Ball comes loose in pile at the 27 and refs said he fumbled before he was down. Ashland ball. From my spot it looked like he was down but tough call. SACK! 10 yard loss drops Ashland to 2nd and 20

1 rush for no gain. Roll out to the right coming back it looks like a hold. Penaltybdeclined. 4th and 6. O staying on field. Now there's controversy over the spot. Refs moved ball up and coach Fields went nuts. Took the penalty. 3rd and 15. Huge sack! Drops Tomcats back to 4th and a mile. Stayed on field. Low pass refs said caught for TD. Penalty after play. Unsportsmanlike conduct on Tomcats. Will be assessed on Kickoff. Extra point good. 14-0. Jags need to settle down and take advantage of kick being moved back on this series.
