This particular one appears to be coach driven. The plan was created by Whitley Co. head coach. Whitley Co. is in the same district as traditional powerhouses Corbin and South Laurel. On a smaller scale, the super regional is very similar to the First Four in the NCAA tournament. More postseason basketball is a win for me personally.

Lawerence Co. won the region after losing their district opener two years ago.

I believe with districts being determined geographically, and not classed there are some top heavy districts across the state. IE. 11th Region With a district of Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Frederick Douglass, Scott Co. and Sayre while another district is Great Crossing, Western Hills, Franklin, Frankfort and Frankfort Christian. Clearly, the last place team in one district could be runner-up in the other district most seasons. I think it creates some Opportunity without changing the traditional model very much.

Looks like there is a push on the boys side to get this going before the season. 11-1 vote in favor of the coaches, while some others abstained from voting.

I would think this is Somerset biggest test in the district. I thought Crawford looked fine for a tough a situation. He gets the ball out pretty quick. I think the Jumpers will bounce back 35-6.

I would've liked to see a full game with Turner healthy. Not sure it changes the outcome, but I think it's much closer.

It goes without saying, Corbin is a tough place to win at. I'll take the Hounds in a low scoring affair.

Late add for Somerset after Paris dropped them. Not sure how it came together though. This is a good measuring stick game for the Jumpers. They will be superior to their district teams, so this will be really good for them in the long run to have a good opponent come to town and get good tape to learn from it.

I was impressed with SW DLine tonight. They controlled the line of scrimmage for majority of the game. Kudos to Turner and Wooldridge making key plays late to seal the game for Jumpers.

The QB is a proven leader. Their skill guys are solid, and Xavier Wooldridge has the potential to be really special as an athlete.

This is Somerset's most well rounded team since the 2019 championship. They have a very solid QB, good skill players and a really impressive stable of lineman. I think they are equipped to make a run at it.

Stonebraker won a district championship at Casey County. When you look at that program and history, that's impressive.

I felt bad for Garrard receiver who dropped two point blank TDs.

Did Turner lose the QB battle going into that season to Baylor Murphy? Boyle has had an outstanding stable of QBs.

He’s indicated he is playing basketball.

Turner changes Somerset dynamics on the offensive side. He was impressive in his debut. Somerset is huge up front as well.

Garrard score from last night is a little deceiving. It was 7-0 late first half, and they threw a pick 6 then fumbled next possession which resulted in another TD for Madison Southern right before half. 21-0 at half, and I’m sure that deflated the young Lions.

This looks to be a brutal schedule from a name standpoint. I heard they looked good in a passing league, but not sure what they have up front.

Maybe this academy is an AAU team. In regards to Davie. Makes more sense.

I seen a post today that Austin Davie was going to play for Western Reserve Academy out of Ohio. Unfamiliar with them, but seen they won the National Prep Championship in 2024. Huge blow for the Camels.

2016 alum for the Knights.

Coach Clarkston was an assistant this past season at West Jessamine on the girls side. Before that, he spent several seasons at Boyle County on the boys side.

Coach Sears has been an assistant at Somerset Christian for several years.
