2018-19 was his last season coaching at Boyle Co. Good hire, Steve is a very disciplined coach so it will be adjustment from the interim they had this season that seemed very mild mannered.

It's been pretty quiet. The job is posted on their website. I wonder if it's a situation where they just wanted to open it up to see the applicant pool, or if he has a chance to reapply for it. Not much advertising it, or vetting candidates to my knowledge.

Glasgow seems like a pretty solid job from outside looking in. What’s the landscape?

I think they had a lot of discipline issues this past season. There were kids suspended and kicked off completely. Who’s fault that was you would have to be in locker room. I know the Baughman kid is at Mercer now, but I do think they have some young talent if cultivated right.

I’m with you Pulaski has the best program. They plug in and produce. Somerset is a step behind, but has also built a solid program. Their JV and middle school teams are very solid as well. 47th district will be very good with Pulaski, Rock and SHS again.

I was told they were going to look at it after football next season, and that Tackett was starting at West of state and placing an emphasis on eliminating 3 and 5 team districts.

Good hire. It will be interesting to see the mesh between a group of players that have been “let them play” style to playing in some structure and set offense.

I don't think so. Big middle school class coming in. I don't think he would leave to rebuild another school.

Coach Decker was an alum, and had led the Eagles for 12 seasons total (two stints). The last 3 seasons had a record of (60-30).

Paul Decker has resigned. Maybe some of the west KY people can speak on this job. It has always seemed from the outside a very good job in the 3rd region.

What a different age we are in. Make a run to State Championship game, and leave the next year. Nothing would surprise me.

It will be interesting to see who lands at East and West Jess. I know they swung big, but did they connect?

DCA is certainly All-A favorites with how much they return. I would say Pulaski, Wayne (assuming everyone is there) and DCA are the preseason favorites in some order.

Absher, Lewis and Bruner will be a good backcourt. Player development and scheme still play a role in some programs in the portal era. Absher is much further along than Godby was as a SO, and has a well-rounded skill set. I don't think anyone would've predicted Godby to be POY as a SO. Work Ethic, establishing a good culture, player development and scheme all play a role.

Any scoop on why Coach Martin wasn't retained? Back to back district championships aren't anything to scoff at.
