Open Job: Nelson County

Featured Replies

Nelson County has opened today with the departure of Jordan Gilbert to Mason County. This one could be filled by a coach within the region.

With the news I'm hearing out of Nelson County, this maybe a tough job to fill.

They will need to fill their vacant AD job first I would imagine.  It has created quite a buzz online.

Good administration is hard to find. Nelson County has had some really good admins but the superintendent has done a really good job of running off good admins. From what I've heard they'll also have to hire a principal to go along with AD

it is sad. Can't believe that this district is falling apart like it is. They lost an awesome AD.

You have certainly nailed this from what I'm hearing.

Hearing any names on this one?

Not sure there will be a lot of interest in this with all the turmoil going on.

Have heard a former 5th region head coach in the last 5 years as a name involved in this one.

That's interesting. I have heard very little coming out of Nelson County. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned to an assistant coach who is retired who has lots of head coaching experience as maybe an interim for next season.

It is usually not a good sign when someone at the Central Office is the one calling applicants. District leadership has screwed up big time here.

The coach that I thought they might reach out too says it won't be them on the boys side.

I hear it might be Tavon Johnson from Central Hardin.  He recently resigned from there.

Pretty sure that he will be going back to Bardstown as an assistant coach. I had heard that rumor for a while that he was going back to Bardstown.
