The question I always find myself asking in discussions like this, does this award go to the best player in the state or in case of the Heisman does it go to the best player in the nation? Or does it go to the best player on the best team? That in my humble opinion is two totally different questions. If, (and that is a big two letter word), it goes to the best player in the state, how does Driver not win? Again, in my humble opinion, he's the best tight end not just in Kentucky, but I think the nation. I know it has him third, but I'd love to see the other two? I had someone (I will not name drop), but is a Boyle County alum, tell me, Driver maybe the best player in the Nation, not just Kentucky.

It's only problematic when parents decided to make it an issue, via social media. What if, (is a card we can always play) he gets hurt in a game a suffers a season ending injury, then the Aces won't have to worry about chasing a state championship.

Don't forget after the first round, the RPI comes into play! So, they may not get the winner of Apollo/MNH depending wherever thing shakes out with RPI.

If in my pregame, a coach tells me and my umpire that we need to watch # whatever, I inform that coach, that happened in another game, we are only going to officiate what happens in tonight's game.

Players do earn their reputations; however, that reputation should be based on what has happened in that game on Friday night, not what a kid has done on previous Friday nights. It's not for officials to police, it's for officials to enforce the rules. Like knee pads, now mouth pieces those are rules that must be enforced on the high school level. The body slam was, in my opinion, and unsporting act at best and unnecessary roughness in the least.

I would hate to think officials go into a game with a "radar" looking for a specific player.

I like it, you take for example the 9th district in the 3rd region (Apollo, Daviess County, Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic) those teams are normally 3 of the best teams in the region and every year one of them sits at home as they are eliminated in the district tourney. I think it would be great to have all the best teams in the region play.

Inquiring minds what to know the answer to those fair questions.

There is absolutely no justifiable reason to humiliate a team like that. That is totally disrespectful.

If there is a game that Coach Edge would like to win, it would be this one. I can't put my finger on it, but something tells me that Coach Edge and the Eagles find a way to win this game. Who knows it maybe another OT game.
