Open Job: Central Hardin

Featured Replies

Tavon Johnson has resigned his position as head coach at Central Hardin. I would think this position would draw some interest from lots of candidates. Growing area, biggest high school in Hardin County. Lots of potential.

Really late to resign.

Never mind, He may have accepted a job elsewhere.

Did they make it to the region under Coach Johnson?  I know they have a new gym that is super nice, so facilities seem to be strong.

They did not make region with Brett Decker Coach Johnson first season. They did make region his second year losing to Adair County in the first round. Last season they did not make region, were upset by Elizabethtown.

Whomever takes the Central Hardin job knows they are going to be battling for second/third behind NHHS for districts.

Right now that district is down besides North Hardin. Etown has some young talent but they don't have elite talent like a few years back. John Hardin is down also talent wise. The chance to make region is there for the next coach.

I agree, outside of North, Central should be in the hunt for district and region each season. Etown is way down from where they've been. John is down and doesn't look like it will be turning around anytime soon. Central is the largest school in that district, they have the nicest facilities. This job should be attractive and draw quality candidates.

Why did he leave?
Is there any talent on next year’s team?

How about you give their name?

Cause I didn't want to post any names while they might have been in the middle of a contract discussion. But I can say now that I know for sure, Glenn Peterson is not planning to return as a head coach, and that the job was offered to Keith Adkins but he has turned it down.

Any word on this job, was told they had several applicants for it?
