  1. Jeff Morrow from Iroquois has accepted the position. He made an announcement today.
  2. I did hear a name yesterday I haven’t seen in this thread. Would be hard for me seeing this guy leave, but with potential connection to football it’s not out of the realm.
  3. Is getting your first HC job at where you played really the best thing? I would think it would be really difficult. Hagen could def knock it out of the park, but will probably have people trying to latch onto him as well. But, you did make a good point Purple he has solid mentors and would need to lean on them as a young guy.
  4. A super nice guy. Where did he coach at previously?
  5. Yes, one regional loss in the regional semis.
  6. Heard a "few parents" may have been upset. Tale as old as time.
  7. He was fired and forced out. Tough standard, I'm not super familiar to the situation but maybe the football team winning a State Championship turned up the expectations??
  8. It does appear based on some of the comments floating around he was forced out. Hard to be a HS coach right now.
  9. The Jackets finished 8-21 this season. They play in a very tough district with Harlan Co. and Bell Co.
  10. Coach Overstreet has been relieved of his duties. He was the coach for six seasons with a 102-66 record with 2 district championships (including this season).
  11. Coach Gilbert has resigned in an X Post. The Dragons won the 5th Region All A, district championship and made the semifinals this past season.
  12. Does the phenomenon of early enrollment for high profile football players now change the landscape in your opinion? Boyle was still solid this year, but without Tavey playing had a different ceiling. I personally think it’s great for the individual to get in there early and gain quality reps, but it does hamper the HS basketball program. I know these are unique cases but Driver is another case. Which, I would imagine he would play this year because he really seems to enjoy it.
  13. Ronnie Bottoms was a great paraprofessional coach for Boyle Co. Basketball. He led to the Rebels to the 2006 Sweet Sixteen.
  14. Most veteran/established head coaches are not in the classroom all day long teaching is my point. Very difficult to do, and most of the time young guys trying to get foot in the door have to do it to get an opportunity. Maybe Boyle has something planned for its future coach, but all you see on website are special education teaching jobs. I think younger guys would be more capable/willing to do that.
  15. I still think it’ll be someone younger unless they create an attractive day job. Hard to teach full load and do the coaching job correctly.
  16. Trey Tinsley has got this job. Last job was a year ago at Edmonson Co. His father was a longtime HS Head Coach in state, and brother Ryne currently coaches Apollo.
  17. I think that is the million dollar question in the area right now.
  18. Bingo. What you emphasize in practice and the film room is what you'll get. Each team is unique. Some don't need as many sets, while others need them to survive and get quality shot opportunities. And really, not much different than football. Teams can have multiple looks/options out of the same "formation".
  19. My guess is Hagen Tyler because of the day job situation. I think Hagen would be a good hire as an alum, and has been around solid basketball coaches in his young career.
  20. Coach Inmon released a statement through Larry Vaught.
  21. Pretty sure his son got a little run as an 8th grader at North Oldham.
  22. Somerset went to the state semis in football, while Boyle Co. went out in Region Finals this year. Boyle and Somerset go deep into playoffs almost every year.
  23. I don’t think that was DCA’s best stuff either. Sometimes you don’t play well on that stage. Credit to South though.
