Coach Gilbert has resigned in an X Post.  The Dragons won the 5th Region All A, district championship and made the semifinals this past season. 

There is a rumored job opening that may be intriguing to Coach Gilbert if he wants to go that route. 

Would be shocked if assistant Montrelle Irvin doesn’t take over. 

It does appear based on some of the comments floating around he was forced out.  Hard to be a HS coach right now.

Having an assistant who has been mainly a head coach as well at least in the 5th region hasn't been the best for that head coach either. I don't know how good of a coach he is but the man had the best Green County season of my lifetime. Coaches are being forced out left and right who have had great years, really sad truly.

Heard a "few parents" may have been upset.  Tale as old as time.

Feels like parents have never had more power, which is not a good thing.

They were 24-4 this year and top 10 at different points in the season right?

Yes, one regional loss in the regional semis. 

Hearing Green's sophomore to be starting point guard has already left to enroll at another 5th region school as well.

Yes, and there are a couple kids from caverna going to that same school as well.

Stone is going to Taylor County, but can't see any of those kids from Caverna leaving to go to Taylor or anywhere else. That's been the rumor since those kids were in 8th grade and it hasn't happened yet. Can't imagine it happens now. But I've been wrong before, so who knows.

Who knows for certain, but the AD at Caverna says it's happening.

Montrelle Irvin is the new head coach for Green County.
