Can Danville create enough defense to hang around with LCA in that district? I think the margin between 1-3 is razor thin. Likewise with 4-6 as well.

I agree 1-3 are super close. I also believe 4-6 are super close. I do think there is gap when you drop from 3 to 4. Should make for some very interesting later round playoff matchups. I know it's earlier but I don't think any team ranked at 7 or lower has much chance at making the semis or finals.

Agreed!

Got to say, BW looked awfully strong Friday in their shutout of Indian Hill. All facets of their game looked very solid and without injury Coach Rash appears to have a team equipped for the November deep run. Pre-season is just time to focus on specific aspects, however the pre-season loss to Somerset might give a little concern (was not there and have not heard any discussion on here).

This is Somerset's most well rounded team since the 2019 championship. They have a very solid QB, good skill players and a really impressive stable of lineman. I think they are equipped to make a run at it.

If I am ranking that top 6 I have:

1.LCA

2.Beechwood

3.Somerset

4.Owensboro Catholic

5.Mayfield

6.Belfry(this is only because I just don't know enough about them)

I think the Ads are still about 2 years away from making that a game. You can easily see that the depth has improved on the team but they need to get stronger on the lines to really hang with the top teams of 2A again. The offense can put up points but the defense will need to make some big headway by the end of the year to avoid a big loss like last year to LCA.

I agree. Having watched everyone in the Top 6 this season, I think Somerset has shown the most improvement from last year.

A year ago, they were largely one-dimensional offensively (relying heavily on a running QB) and a stout defense. That defense is still very good, but what's impressed me most is how much more balanced the offense has become.

If they continue to develop offensively while maintaining that level of defense, they're going to be a tough out for anyone. Their physical style of play also seems built for November football, especially when the weather turns cold and nasty.

The QB is a proven leader. Their skill guys are solid, and Xavier Wooldridge has the potential to be really special as an athlete.

Can Beechwood beat Covington Catholi? IF they can they will have a high RPI. If not Owensboro Catholic will move above them even if Catholic wins or loses Friday night against Owensboro.

Somerset schedule looks pretty good to go 10-0.

Mayfield will probably finish 9-1.

Belfry I am not sure because I just don't know enough about them.

LCA has 2 losses so they will not get the #1. They need to be at bigger schools like Catholic does.
