Looked it up and according to the Cincinnati Inquirer it is true. They won 25-21, 25-18, 16-25, 18-25, 15-9

LSU's playoff odds have shrunk to 14%. They play host in a few weeks to Alabama and then Texas but also have Mississippi State at home next week and then go on the road late in the year to Tennessee. They are in bad shape.

LCA also moves to 3A next year, right? If I'm correct, this could be the last Danville-LCA game in what has been a fun rivalry in 2A. Not so much in recent years when the Danville admin destroyed the program but there were lots of fun games between these teams, especially in the Clay Clevenger years.

To add onto this good write up, this will be the big test that the Admirals season has been building toward. The Ads will feed Jayvian Meaux a lot and LCA will be trying to contain him. W.E.B. Du Bois took away the Ads passing attack last week and made the Ads one dimensional, which was almost enough to pull out the victory. Ads playmaker Trinden Sellers got hurt early in the Du Bois game too so it is unclear whether he will play. LCA is the prohibitive favorite here and while I'm not big on moral victories the real test in this game is if the Ads make it a better game than the 49-18 beating that they took last year in Lexington. I like to live blog the Ads games here but I will be traveling so I hope someone will take those duties on, whether an LCA partisan or otherwise!

Wow, I had no idea West Jessamine is undefeated. That program has come a ways.

Sad situation for the Admirals faithful this morning regarding Jamaree Johnson, a senior who suffered an ACL injury in the closing minutes against Lincoln County and had his season ended a few weeks ago. Prayers to his family:

Yeah, I was in agreement with the radio team that I didn't understand why Cruver was constantly doing QB runs that weren't getting anywhere while Meaux was chewing up 5+ yards per carry. I guess the idea was to keep Du Bois from cluing in on Meaux but I found it highly questionable. Very surprised that the Ads came out of this with a win because they were playing from behind the entire evening. Du Bois has some great athletes and I'm confident they will make the 2nd round.

Final Thoughts: -Wild game where each team had some opportunities to shut the other down in critical moments. Dickerson was clutch for Du Bois on their last drive, always finding completions and beating the Ads blitz but the team was not able to come up with points. The Ads converted some 4th and longs on the last drive to put themselves in a position for the final field goal, somewhat surprising because Garcia had not made a kick like that all year. -Trinden Sellers suffered a leg injury during the game early and did not appear after the early part of the 1st quarter. No update was provided about what injury he may have but he did walk off the field. -Danville's win takes them to 8-0 and 3-0 in the district. Next week they will host Lexington Christian Academy (5-2, 2-0) in a game that will determine the district champion. With this win, the Ads have earned a home playoff game in the first round. -Du Bois' record goes to 5-3 and 1-2 in the district after this close loss. Next week they travel to Indiana to play Providence. Providence lost to Louisville Holy Cross earlier in the year.

Garcia comes in to try to make a 28-yard field goal. Du Bois calls their last timeout to try to ice him.

Meaux is given the ball and runs to the left, picking up no yardage. 55 seconds remain in the game. On 3rd and 5 from the Du Bois 12, Ads go to the I-formation and Meaux takes it and breaks a tackle and ends up just short of the yardage. Ball is at the 11 yard line and the Ads wait until the clock hits 3.5 seconds and the Admirals call timeout, presumably to try a field goal.

Du Bois is called for an offsides, giving the Ads a 1st and 5 on the Du Bois 13. Cruver holds onto it and runs left for a loss of a yard. Admirals call timeout. Du Bois still leads 22-20 but the Ads are inside of their 15 with less than 2 minutes to go in the game.

On 3rd down, Meaux gets a direct snap and runs down the sideline, pushed out of bounds after taking a big hit to stay on his feet. The chains move again. The ball moves to the Du Bois 18.

On 2nd down and 2:05 to play Cruver keeps it and runs to the outside for two yards. Du Bois calls another timeout.

2;49 is on the clock. Ball is at the Du Bois 35. Meaux is given the ball on first down and goes for 5 yards. Du Bois calls a timeout.

Cruver keeps the ball again, gaining six yards. On 2nd down, Cruver keeps it again but this time the Ads are flagged for a holding call. A 2nd and 13 is set up. Cruver throws deep again and the officials dispute whether it is caught, so it is ruled incomplete. 3:08 remains. On 3rd and 13 the Ads go for another pass and Cruver's pass to Mylan Peters falls incomplete. The Ads face another vital 4th down. Cruver is pressured and throws to Cam Peters after barely avoiding a sack and that is just enough for a first down.

Cruver holds onto it and rushes it for nothing. The Ads call another QB keeper but this goes in the wrong direction. Ads radio team losing their mind that Meaux is not being fed the ball. The run loses four yards. On 3rd and 14, Meaux is thrown the ball but only gets 4 yards. With 4:34 left in the game, the Ads keep the offense on the field. Cruver throws it deep and it is caught by Mylan Peters. That's a lifesaving play to keep the Ads hopes alive. Ball is on the 48 of Du Bois.

Ball starts on the Ads 20. Meaux runs up the middle on first down and gains seven yards. Cruver holds the ball on a keeper but he goes for two yards. On 3rd and 1 Du Bois is flagged for an offsides so that resets the downs.

9:29 to go in the game. On 1st down Dickerson holds the ball and floats it to the back of the end zone but the pass is incomplete. On 2nd down, Du Bois runs to the outside and that goes for 5 yards. Du Bois faces another 3rd down on this drive, this time a 3rd and 5. They run again to the outside but the Ads manage to stop it for a loss of 1. Du Bois goes for a field goal with 7:55 left in the game but it ends up no good. Puzzling decision by Du Bois to do that instead of going for it. Du Bois leads 22-20 but the Ads have the ball after a missed field goal with about 7:25 to go in the fourth quarter.

There is less than 10:00 to go in the game. Du Bois runs a reverse that goes to the Ads 15. Trayvion Harris is credited with the run. Danville takes a timeout after that.

Lions keep the ball on the ground and it goes for 3 yards. Another run by Du Bois goes for 3 yards. On 3rd and 4 Dickerson throws and completes a quick pass to the Ads 42 for another first down.
