This week provides a big game in the "midcard" of the Class 2A race as the Danville Admirals (7-0, 2-0) make another trip to Louisville, this time to play a district game with W.E.B. Du Bois (5-2, 1-1). The winner of this game is in the driver's seat for a home game in the playoffs and will likely play Somerset in the second round. The loser will go on the road in the first round and if they get past that game, would have a second round matchup against LCA. at LCA Both of these teams are ranked in the top 10 in the Bluegrasspreps 2A poll.

Danville has tried to make more defensive adjustments the last two weeks and has posted two recent shutouts, one against district opponent Shawnee (a 41-0 win) and one against an out-of-district foe in Southern (a 35-0 victory). Jayvian Meaux, the Admirals star running back, has been used more on defensive possessions and the Ads have also given Meaux more of a rest offensively, having quarterback Dillon Cruver air it out more in recent weeks. Last week against Southern five different Admiral players scored touchdowns as a demonstration of that.

Du Bois, in their fourth year as a program at the varsity level, has also had a good season but have had a soft schedule like the Admirals. In their first big test last week at LCA they lost 55-12. Their offense is averaging 28 points per game and their defense is giving up an average of 18 points on the season.

Last year when Du Bois visited Danville they lost 32-12.

So who do you have in this big district showdown on Friday night?

Danville is doing exactly what they need to do. They are not ready for Boyle. They need at least two more years to even start to think about that. Beef up the schedule a little. I would look for a goo

W.E.B. is a nice story, and I think at some point they'll be that team. But it won't be this week.

Danville- 40

Dubois- 17

How's Dubois up front? Danville can match up skill wise with about anyone on their schedule. The line is where I think they will eventually get caught once they play someone better.

Danville 35-14.

Looks like Danville wins.

I am thinking Danville by 2 TD's but this game is hard to read. It is one of those games where almost any outcome will not surprise me because I just don't have a feel for how good these teams are.

If the Ads have solved some of their defensive issues, I like them by 21+, but if not, this could be too close for comfort for Danville.

Brady Edwards getting eligible will definitely help Danville defensively, Dubois has some athletes and will have the fastest kid on the field in Ernst Perry who was the 100 meter Class A State Champion and Rashad High who was several D1 offers. If Danville has trouble tackling they will be in for a long night. Looking at Last years game Dillon Cruver Struggled and only had 55 yards passing, Jayvian Meaux ran for over 200. Dubois will more than likely crowd the line and make Cruver beat them. This will be a great game but I think Dubois wins in a close one.

Meaux runs it again, this time up the middle for 5 yards.

Meaux takes it outside and races deep into Du Bois territory inside of the 30. Another first down for the Ads.

Ball at the Du Bois 27.

Meaux takes it yet again, breaking a run for 6 yards on first down.

Meaux goes to the outside again and pushes with his legs until he is tackled at the Du Bois 6 for another first down.

First and goal run does not go much of anywhere but Sellers is injured on the play. He walks off but is having issues with his leg.

Meaux takes a pitch but takes a loss of three yards.

3rd and goal from the 9 yard line Dillon Cruver throws to Cam Peters in the end zone but it is intercepted by Du Bois.
