I would think Josh Roberts is a good option. Knows system and kids. Wouldn’t be much change or fall off.

I would say they are aware of the situation. Bad thing is you can't make kids come to UK. They have to want come/be paid to come (is more like it). When you swing and miss as much as Pope has done this offseason, you have to end up settling!

For sure the case IMO. I also think Pope took so much criticism for the "$22 million" roster last year that he under valued some of his own guys and didn't get them back for next year.

I wonder what Coach shows up the most on these lists and which school showed up the most.

Wearing a UK jersey isn't worth $1 million for any kid.

I don't think well known coaches wanted to follow Cal. You don't want to follow the guy...you want to follow the guy who follows the guy. With todays landscape, however, why would a good coach who may have a good set up at another school with NIL want to to step into the microscope of Coaching UK. Money is the ticket now, not the name of the school.

The NFL are marketing guru's with the how big they have made the draft process.

I was able to attend a spring practice and was impressed. The energy on the field, the "Coaching" of the players on every rep...the organization and tempo of practice was all a major upgrade than the last few years of the Stoops regime.

I love UK, but I think our vocal minority is bigger than some teams fan base. That's a lot if derogatory comments thrown towards kids.

I am not totally sure about UNC fan base, but the BBN is UK's biggest problem right now. Kids don't want to come to a place where they get thrown under the bus after every bad game/play/shot. The negativity of the most passionate fan base in College basketball is the problem.

My post was meant to be dripping in sarcasm. I think it's safe to say that LSU values winning more than morals/character.

I think differently when dealing with KY boys playing at UK. Chances are if Noah transfers, he will take an NIL hit. Players/agents can use the NIL to create their own endorsements. Looking at Noah, he had a few deals with Banks/Car washes that were true NIL deals. He won't get those anywhere else. History says that KY boys who play at UK (whether they are a star or not) will be taken care of long after their career is over.

LSU would probably say those were NCAA rules not ours. Tons of programs around the country were breaking the same "rules" set forth by the NCAA. Now the NCAA has changed the rules and the ones he broke that most good programs were breaking are have been thrown out. Complicated I guess.

They looked really good last night. They are big skilled and athletic.

California, Mississippi, California, Kansas all have lots of JUCO and conferences ect. If I was czar for a day over KY football, I would add football programs to 6-8 of the KCTCS/BCTC schools in the state. Allow each major University (UK, UL, EKU, WKU, MSU) the ability to place out of state potential recruits on these rosters and fill the rest with instate talent. IMO it would strengthen our College programs and give our HS athletes more marketability.

This could be big for HS football players in KY. With the current recruiting landscape of HS seniors, this could allow an opportunity for valuable experience and "getting a year older".

IMO another thing that Pope needs to do is tone down the rhetoric about the players as well. I get positive motivation etc. but putting unrealistic expectations on players/teams doesn't help with this fan base. They believe that this player is the "best shooter" or this team "reminds me of the '96" team from a depth standpoint. This creates false hope and false confidence in both players and fans. When things turn bad (like they did early in the season) it causes a lot of negativity. He needs to take a few notes from Saban or Izzo or his mentor Pitino (who is a master at calling guys out and motivating through the media)...sometimes calling a spade a spade (if teams or players aren't cutting it) is fine and shows some accountability.

The fact that Pope is using this rhetoric shows that his seat is really warm and IMO he is thin skinned. He has to block out the neigh sayers and coach ball. Early in the season I felt like the pressure was really getting to him. He was really short and rude to Tom Leach on a few coaches shows etc after some of the ugly losses early in the season. He has to keep the blinders on and construct a roster that can win immediately. He also needs to get rid of any bad apples he has in that locker room ( I feel like he try's cater to the players sometimes). It's put up or shut up Coach Pope...you have one more year to do that!

Iowa St just got another alley oop dunk off a staggered screen. I am reading the comments here...is Iowa St a bought team? They talked a lot about their "culture" in the broadcast and how hard they work. IMO UK was the worst coached team I watched play this weekend (I fell asleep during Texas Tech game). There was little to no 1/2 court execution on either side of the ball. We have 0 clue how to defend pick and roll (obviously we have no philosophy) and we lack intensity. When Pope was hired my first reaction was "who" and why. Then I put my blue blinders on, drank some blue kool aid and took my family to Rupp for the his intro. I believe my gut first reaction was correct, and I hate it. Pope seems like a great dude. He has a great family and in many ways has been a breath of fresh air from the Cal rhetoric that exhausted a fan base. He gets one more year, but if it's another year like this year, he has to go!

This was the 12th region as a whole from what I witnessed on a limited basis. Very boring slow down basketball. It will be interesting to see how some of these teams/coaches react to the shot clock era.

That is my point. Weed is legalized in some way for much of the country. While that is a lot...I have been apart of buying 10 kegs for a nice 300 person banger. That was a lot also.

Maybe it was his week to buy for all the homies. Just think if we arrested college students for keg parties.
