The Cats (22-13) will take on the Cyclones (28-7) with a place in the Sweet 16 on the line. The Cats defeat Santa Clara in OT and got the game to OT with a shot by Oweh just inside of half court. Iowa State cruised easily defeating Tennessee State 108-74. The game time has not been put out late I would say it will be a late afternoon or early evening game. Go Cats!!

I'm not certain there was a year more distasteful to watch since the Billy G era than this season.  It was generally excruciating to watch because even the high moments (LSU last second win, both wins

  • You honestly believe that a guy with 20+ years experience as an SEC athletic director panicked? I'd say he could cast a pretty wide net if he chose to do so. Bottom line.....the guys on this roster we

  • Why? There's only one of those teams left in this year's field. Times are changing in the buy a team era.

I have a hard time seeing UK winning this one. Iowa St. #5 in KenPom defensive efficiency. They are good enough to win it all.

HOWEVER...arguably their best player Josh Jefferson went down with an ankle injury in game 1. If he cannot play, that is a huge blow. They have a tight player rotation and he is 31 minutes a game. Jefferson is the type of player that will give UK fits - strong inside. I am not saying UK wins if Jefferson doesn't play - we all know this team defies predictability. But UK's chances of winning increase a good amount if Jefferson doesn't play.

The time was just released and the Cats and Iowa State are scheduled to begin at 2:45pm on Sunday afternoon. Go Cats!!

Kentucky 79-75.

If Kentucky has any shot of pulling off the upset today, Chandler has to be hitting shots! Oweh needs some help, so either Chandler or Aberdeen (or both) have to step up and shoot the ball.

While it’s hard to be confident about a Cats win. As soon as the bracket came out last week, mentioned how it honestly wasn’t a bad draw at all for the Cats. Iowa State is a very good team but has also shown they can be vulnerable, as losing to UC showed that. Plus now without one of their best players, there is a chance we can pull this off. Go Cats!

Jefferson being out is a huge boost, no two ways about it. I'm still skeptical Kentucky can get it done, but that sure helps.

The Miami and Purdue game just ended the Cats and Cyclones should tip around 2:48pm. Go Cats!

20-9 Kentucky at the under 12 of first half. But Iowa State going to the line for three free throws.

A strong start was an absolute must, and Kentucky has gotten it so far. Need to keep pouring it on while Iowa State is still figuring things out.

Zero idea what Pope was waiting for in regards to taking a timeout. That should have been taking at least two possessions before he finally took it.

A lot of turnovers by Kentucky and fouls to let Iowa State get going at the line, and suddenly the 20-9 lead is all the way gone. 11-0 run for the Cyclones.

Iowa State has attempted 11 free throws. Kentucky, none.
