Per WKDZ sports reporter Ed Marlowe:

Also confirmed by Adam Wells of WPSD Paducah Local 6:

It will be interesting to hear the "more details" on Coach Dew no longer being the Mayfield Coach.

Anyone?

Also, who should be on the short list for this job?

Wow...so wonder if Offensive coordinator Hatchell wants it? I have heard that it was his last time but he turned it down. Will be very interesting as it plays out. Lot of shake up the past few years for a once very very stable program and I think it showed on field. This will be an opportunity for this storied program to get back to some stability going forward.

I heard it was a falling out over baseball and some heated words between Dew and the principal.

He interviewed but it was not offered to him. They gave it to Coach Dew outright.

This.

Would Coach Dew have been on a bit of a hot seat this coming season given the blowout losses to Paducah Tilghman and LCA the past 2 seasons?

Wow! Big news out of the Purchase today. Mayfield has the most wins of any team in KY and third most (I believe in the nation). Very rich tradition and they have won in multiple eras.

Third best job this cycle, in my opinion, behind Male and X.

I’m sure Coach Dew can find a job in the area as a assistant coach and would be a welcome addition to some school.

This will be a top job. Not sure what will happen this will get a lot of attention.

This is not going to be a coaching search.

Are you suggesting Coach Morris is going to take back over?
