  1. Great weather and a great performance from the Rocks tonight! Trinity was simply the better team in all facets of the game. Johnson was dialed in with the passing game, throwing for over 300 yards. Stivers continued to look like Trinity's best pass-catcher while the RB duo of Taylor and Berry continued to shine. EBC and Carney were the big stars on defense, locking down the Tigers on the back end and at the line. X had no answers. Certainly not the showing the Tigers faithful wanted to see in Landis' rivalry debut. Lots of chatter about the QB situation and the night's decision at starter amongst fans. Trinity gets their 53rd win in the series and 3rd win in a row. Believe Jay Cobb is 5-3 against X now. The Rocks have outscored the Tigers 129-31 in their past three meetings.
  2. CBC was faster and more athletic than Anderson for sure. But in the end, the Rocks were still able to pull away. Was very good to see the passing game get going + the running ability still be there. 2-0 and having won those games by a combined score of 111-34. Great start. Now onto Moeller next week at home.
  3. I don't know too much about CBC other than they are the top team in Missouri. Have had folks tell me it should be a better opponent than Anderson was. It's gonna be possibly the longest bus ride in Trinity football history. But I believe the Rocks can get it done. Let's see that offense explode once more and the defense continue to clamp down and apply pressure at all angles. And as @new fan mentioned, I fully expect the week after to have national hype after this coming week.
  4. Looks like both Trinity and Seneca will be playing in the first annual Kentucky Basketball Classic, which will be hosted by Thomas Nelson. Dec. 12th. Arbiter has Trinity vs Taylor County and Seneca vs Christian County. WEB Dubois and Moore are other Louisville teams playing in the event. Thomas Nelson (host), GRC, Grayson County, and Apollo also listed as playing.
  5. I believed Trinity would win the game but I did not see the show the Rock put on tonight coming. It was a good old fashioned butt whooping in Cincinnati tonight! Rocks were in control from start to finish. Ran the ball well, good in the air, and struck fear in the opposing QB on every snap it felt like. What a great way to start the season. 1-0. Now its time for the Rocks to prep for a trip to St. Louis next week.
  6. Biased with most of my knowledge of 1A being mostly teams in Louisville, but senior Jerek Hoover (QB/S, Holy Cross). Going to be a three-year starter this fall. Threw for 1,719 yards and 16 TDs while also rushing for 838 yards and 12 TDs last year. Was top 25 in total rushing and passing yards. Had 16 tackles and 1 sack on defense as well. Very exciting player.
  7. I will believe it when I see it, especially after that chatter over the past few years. However, I would think if and when Cobb hangs it up, defensive coordinator Michael Fox would be the front-runner for the job.
  8. Queen was Seneca's leading scorer last season as a freshman.
  9. Some other intriguing matchups including Louisville schools: CAL at Pikeville KCD vs Sayre
  10. Atherton has hired Fern Creek grad and former IU Southeast player Demetrius Stanton as their next head coach. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ESV95FigA/
  11. Here's a cool article I found that a St. X student did a few years ago on the Flaget vs X rivalry. https://xaviernews.org/15130/features/st-xs-first-rivalry/
  12. Best one's from Louisville: Trinity vs St. X Manual vs Male DeSales vs Holy Cross Butler vs Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP) Some good dead rivalries: Flaget vs St.X - Flaget closed in 1974. Both were operated by the Xaverian Brothers. DeSales vs Bishop David - all-boys BD combined with all-girls Angela Merici to create HC in 1984
  13. Biased, but Trinity vs X. Played every year since 1956. X currently on a five-game winning streak. Trinity leads the all-time series 50-46, by my count.
  14. Agree with the Trinity matchups. Top-notch schedule across the board again. Here are some others to add that intrigue me: LCA vs CAL - Sep. 4 Raceland vs Pikeville - Sep. 4 Owensboro Catholic vs Owensboro - Sep. 11
  15. Some development from Trinity. Appears that rising junior Micah Freeman and rising senior Parker Kays and both transferring in from DeSales and Floyd Central (Ind.).
  16. Obviously very early still, but Grivna has added Indiana, Iowa, and Villanova to his offer list.
  17. Edelen has committed to Fairfield. https://www.instagram.com/p/DYfjoEGPFQi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  18. Coach Thompson's results speak for themselves. But this will be tough and would be for any coach anywhere in the state to do. Nonetheless do it at a place like PT where expectations are high.
  19. It is very much so, especially compared to what we've had recently.
  20. It's never soon to talk basketball in the Bluegrass. As we get ready to head into summer/AAU season, who do we think as possible candidates for MR. Basketball next season? Any list has to start with.... Braxton Keathley - Martin County - 33.1 ppg Matthew Langhi - Marshall County - 28.5 ppg Some other guys I like and think could make some noise in the race are... Jack Logsdon - Grayson County - 19.8 Tommy Gregg - North Oldham - 14.7 ppg Montez Gay - GRC - 16.8 ppg
  21. Never said that. Was purely responding to the post about a Trinity-Boyle matchup. Here is what I said on that matter earlier. It would likely be a good game and would be fun to see.
  22. I hate 100% pure speculation, but....after seeing him pull in Jake Feldhaus and Jayden Johnson, one has to wonder if Chris Mack and the South Florida Bulls are in on this? He offered Edelen at College of Charleston.
  23. The Bulldogs were about as bad as I can remember last year as a whole. Had some good players for sure, as is always the case, but were far from the standard. Will be interesting to see what year one Chase Porter looks like. Looking at their schedule, I only see 5 games that I immediately say win. I think they enter the playoffs with a record in the 6-4 or 5-5 range.
  24. I, as well as many others in the Trinity world, would love to see a Trinity-Boyle matchup. I think it is great to see the best teams in the state matchup regardless of classification. Maybe not every year, but there are programs under 6A that have just as much tradition, passion, and talent year in and year out like the top-tier of 6A (T, X, Male, etc.).
