What player in Class 1A Do you think deserves to be named Pre-Season Player of the Year(Senior Preferable)? Tell why you think the player you pick deserves it and some fact or stats backing it up.

My vote for Pre-Season Player of the Year is

Landon Stiltner- Raceland

He had over 1,500 all purpose yards last season. He led his team to its for its 4th straight State finals appearance. He is looking to make it 5 and his 4th. He also committed to play for Youngstown State over the Summer.

Kace Eastridge was my pick last year from Campbellsville.

Stiltner would also be my pick, but there are a couple of quarterbacks primed for big seasons.

JJ Reynolds (Pikeville) - 2,000 yards of offense and 28 combined touchdowns in '25

Deakon Partin (Middlesboro) - 2,327 yards of offense and 35 combined touchdowns in '25

Both have most of their supporting casts back from last season. Reynolds should have Pikeville positioned as a 1A title favorite.

I would pick Stiltner. It’s still mind boggling how he didn’t get the ball on 4th and 1 in the state championship.

Biased with most of my knowledge of 1A being mostly teams in Louisville, but senior Jerek Hoover (QB/S, Holy Cross).

Going to be a three-year starter this fall. Threw for 1,719 yards and 16 TDs while also rushing for 838 yards and 12 TDs last year. Was top 25 in total rushing and passing yards. Had 16 tackles and 1 sack on defense as well. Very exciting player.

I have to be a homer and go with Stiltner. His numbers support it, and if you haven't seen him play in person, you need to watch some video, seeing is believing.
