2004 CCH team lost to Brossart at Brossart in mid to late December. They had just lost to Cincy St. X a few days before at the Cintas Center.

Cov Cath did not lose at home that year.

The 2004-2005 Covcath squad lost to Brossart at CCH on Senior night. Not sure if we are talking about the same squad but it was the Covcath team led by Votel as a senior and and Brossart led by Mcdole and Smith as Seniors.

As great as the Holmes teams have been in the recent past, the last 9th Region team to run the table against 9th Region opponents was the '04 Cov. Cath. squad. (Which is not to say they ran the table against Northern Kentucky opponents, since Brossert came in to Park Hills on Senior night in '04 and throttled the Colonels.)

Correct, but the '05 team also lost to St. Henry earlier in the season, breaking the streak of consecutive wins in the 9th. The '04 team went undefeated in the 9th, but did lose at Brossart. I think Flotsam just got his years mixed up. :D

If he is a candidate, Carr is the best one out there. IMHO he is on a much higher level than Coach Sullivan both in experience as well as success. With his ability to instill discipline and teach defense Holmes would continue the tradition of being a tremendously successful program.

I don't know how you figure coach Carr has such a higher level of experience than coach Sullivan and knows more about defense. Coach Sullivan played point guard @ Holmes in the mid 1990s when Tim Reilly was the defensive mastermind before he became head coach @ Warren Central. After graduation Sullivan played 4 years of college ball @ Brescia. The last 2 years at Bresica he was the starting point guard for John Reilly, a coach known for his tough man to man defense. Coach Reilly and coach Sullivan became very close and after graduating from Brescia in 2001 coach Sullivan assisted coach Reilly @ Brescia for 2 years. Had he not wanted to come back to the Northern Ky. area he would probably still be with coach Reilly who has moved on to Gannon, PA. where he has developed a NCAA division II powerhouse. Sullivan became the head coach @ Maysville St. Patrick for one year and moved on to Mason Co. as an assistant coach in 2005-2006 where they lost to Apollo in the state championship. He left there to join the Holmes staff as an assistant where they made two trips to state and lost to Mason Co. in the championship game in 2007-2008. He then took the Cooper job where he is currently. I'd say that he has quite a bit of experience imo.

I was told he was by 3 different sources this weekend...

If true, he sure does have an impressive resume:

...Director of Student-Athlete Development at UC...

...Shumate joined the Bearcats' staff in 2007 after spending two years playing professional basketball in New Mexico and Arkansas in the NBA Developmental League.

As a four-year letterman at Murray State, Shumate completed his career as the Racers' 24th all-time leading scorer with 1,207 points. His senior season, under then-new head coach Mick Cronin, Shumate, the team's captain, helped lead Murray State to a 28-6 mark overall and an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship, while earning second-team all-Ohio Valley Conference honors.

I would only add that is an impressive playing career, not an impressive head coaching resume.
