Holmes next coach will be......

Featured Replies

I would only add that is an impressive playing career, not an impressive head coaching resume.

I'm speaking in terms of experience with basketball and knowing the game.

Still think it's Carr to Holmes, Sullivan joins wife at Scott and then Cooper searches

That is a good thought. Maybe it's just me but if I where Coach Sullivan, if I didn't get the Holmes job I would stay at Cooper. It is a new program and instead of jumping ship over to Scott (decent program),I would want to build it at Cooper. Cooper is getting established and I would rather put my mark on that program rather than go to a school and be just another name waiting for my dream job.

Scott has become much more than a "decent" program lately. They have made some very, very big strides over the years and are one of the top teams in NKY and the 10th Region year-in and year-out.

What about Rick Shumate at Beechwood, he has really resurrected the program at Beechwood. With the talent at Holmes he could surprise a lot of folks on here.

Wrong on both fronts. Brad Carr won't get the Holmes job and Tim Sullivan wouldn't leave the Cooper job for Scott even if he did.

Not a chance.

I wonder if Tim Sullivan told you that himself? Fact is that he's told people all along that if Carr left Scott he would want that job. His wife works at the school and is the volleyball coach, plus he's already had one tour there as a coach. I think Tim Sullivan would pounce on the Scott job just to get out of Cooper, and away from their administration.

Understatement of the year.

Throw in the fact that Scott is in Kenton County and they have open enrollment.

I'd be shocked if Carr gets the Holmes job. I'd be even more shocked if the Scott job was open and Sullivan didn't want it. But EZ probably knows more about this than anyone.

Me saying decent is meant as no disrespect towards the Scott program. They have mad some good progress but again I wouldn't leave Cooper for Scott. Nothing against them, like I said I would rather make a name for myself at a program that is up and coming than just be another name at a Scott. There is to much potential upside to Cooper right now, and unless Holmes was knocking on my door to coach I would stay put.

I was told he was by 3 different sources this weekend...

GT, from what I can gather, Chris Shumate, from UC, is not a candidate for the Holmes job.

There haven't been any interviews scheduled thus far, from what I hear.

Still pretty wide open with no perceived leaders.

I guess we'll find out soon who gets an interview.

^^^Thanks for the update Clyde.

So Coach Sully is cool with you posting that Holmes called him?

And it sounds like Coach Sully would be interested.:idunno:

I don't think anyone doubts Sullivan would be interested. Even if he's interested and the job is offered to him he doesn't have to take it.
