Trump saves a thousand jobs in Indiana

Recommended Posts

It's not socialist. No government owned companies. I don't care if its a Chinese or German or whoever the rich man at the top is. Don't care where or what country the profit goes to. If you want to participate in one of the best markets in the world you have to have skin in the game. I use toyota and georgetown as a example. Foreign owned company that makes it here.... That would bring the middle class roaring back instead of our sellout trade deals that has the middle class declining.. What's your idea then?

Socialism is when the government tells the companies what they can or can't do as a business. It is a form of socialism.

Is he going to do the same for me in 2018 when Corning threatens us in contract negotiations to move their operation to Korea or will I just be out of luck and out of a job because we don't do our major business with the federal government?

My guess is there will be an atmosphere created that will entice companies to either not leave or come back. He might not "personally" make deals himself moving forward with every company out there...I mean no president can do that...but the climate for the very same thing will be there, I believe.

Like the GM bailout?

Actually, it's an interesting contrast. When Obama intervened to save jobs he was a socialist undermining the free market. When Trump does it he's a patriot trying to help keep these hard-working people employed. A lot has changed in eight years...

Not remotely the same. And remember, some of that started under George W. with the bailouts, and a lot of Republicans were furious over it.

Not sure. Just saw they were closing and figured if you're going to save 1,000 American jobs you need to save them all right?

Some companies dont want saved. They are greedy and know they will make more off cheap slave labor.

GM was set to fold up and close down factories. The government stepped in to keep them afloat so thousands of autoworkers could keep their jobs.

I remember people tearing their hair out on this forum about how Obama was undermining the free market and how it was "tough luck" for the people heading for unemployment, but that's the way capitalism works.

Now, the government has got to do something to keep these jobs, by God!

Socialism is when the government tells the companies what they can or can't do as a business. It is a form of socialism.

Then any regulation the government stipulates is a form of socialism by your definition. I mean that's what regulations are right, the government telling companies what they can and can't do essentially? So personally I would disagree with you definition here because regulations in and of themselves aren't necessarily socialism. Socialist governments actually "run" most if not all the businesses, at least the big major ones anyway, think Venezuela and the oil companies.

Have all the bailed-out companies reimbursed the federal government for the loans or the stock the feds purchased? Did any of them file for bankruptcy after the feds helped them? If so, did the feds receive anything of value through Bankruptcy Court proceedings?

This is very telling as to those from the Left that said, "I'll say good job when Trump does something good". I call bull feces. :lol2::lol2:

I like what he's doing so far. But I do believe the hypocritical critique's by both sides is very telling.

Not while he was ignoring other companies that weren't union affiliated, no.

What companies were ignored that weren't union affiliated? Last I saw all he did was continue the bailout that was started by George W. Bush and there were plenty of companies that were bailed out that weren't union affiliated. Plenty.
