Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted May 3, 2024 Author Posted May 3, 2024 The Breds finished their regular season with a 6-4 record last year. They were awarded a forfeit win in the first round of the playoffs after Trimble County didn't have enough healthy players to field a team, then they beat Dayton in the second round, and lost to a very solid Campbellsville team in the 1A quarterfinals. The offense loses their top QB Kolton Smith to graduation, but Louie Collopy had a strong showing as second man up. Their top offensive producer, Demetrick Welch, is also lost to graduation. He led the team in rushing with 1125 yards and 22 touchdowns, and was their number two receiver with 18 receptions for 239 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kaleb Cole finished the season second in rushing yards and will be back as a senior in 2024, and top receiver Charlie Ford will also return as a senior. On defense they return three of their top five tacklers from last season in LB Kaleb Cole, LB Landon Kraft, and DL Gabe Lyons who will all be back as seniors. 1
RetiredFan Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Kaleb Cole suffered a series of injuries during his junior year and missed significant time. Still was a major contributor especially during the playoffs. He has played varsity since his freshman year. Very physical with a high-speed motor and hits like a freight train. Look for him to have a big season as a leader for the Breds. Breds bring back an experienced offensive line and depth at receiver. Keys to the defense are in place. Look for some of the younger players to step up and contribute right away. Strength of schedule will help with the RPI and hopefully get a home game for the payoffs. 1 1
James Graham Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Kaleb Cole is in the conversation for most underrecruited kid in NKY. He hits like a freight train because he's built like a freight train. 2

NKY KID Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I will add that on top of how athletic he is Kaleb is an incredible person. Very respectful and polite. He will be a great leader for this Breds team. Kaleb and Collopy will will have this team ready to roll come game time. 4

You are impressive in the info you can get! Those numbers are a load in high school. I am not sure how they translate to a position at the next level. Probably a TMC or Georgetown opportunity?
James Graham Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 My only point in saying that he is underrecruited is that I would expect a lot of offers like TMU or Georgetown to come his way... but I guess those schools offer much later in the cycle now due to Portal and other factors. Recruiting has completely changed. 2

After coming back from his injury, you could actually see him looking for someone to "try him." I expect him to bring even more of that this season. Nicest kid you would meet off the field. On the field, an absolute nightmare on both sides of the ball LOL. 2

A lot of enthusiasm behind the new branding, and stadium construction starting in July. High expectations this year. Great group of young men. Will be interesting to see how the QB position shakes out. Some holes to fill up front at Center and Guard. Guys have been putting in the work all offseason. The leaders will have this group ready to go as they seem determined to best last year. 2
