  1. I will add that on top of how athletic he is Kaleb is an incredible person. Very respectful and polite. He will be a great leader for this Breds team. Kaleb and Collopy will will have this team ready to roll come game time.
  2. Any confirmed names of the 15 anyone would be able to share?
  3. The wording used in the “press release” leads me to believe he was not asked back. Generally, it would state “resigned” or “due to family obligations”. I wonder if they felt he did a nice job but looking for someone to take them to the next level and did not feel he was the one.
  4. So Brossart has one of the best kickers in maybe the state. How many field goals have they missed out on tonight? They could definitely be within one score by now.
  5. Full disclosure…. not real familiar with soccer so pardon the dumb question. Who received the red card and does that mean he is ineligible for the region finals on Saturday?
  6. NCC is still banged up and trying to get some key players healed for the stretch. I think this will be closer than most think. I expect another week of a heavy run game which keeps the score lower unless there are a lot of long runs for TD’s. I do think it is an NCC victory but they can’t expect Dayton to just lay down. They will have to work hard to earn it.
  7. NCC is very banged up even though they are coming off a bye week. QB Kolton Smith will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery to repair some damage to his foot suffered in the Raceland game. Caleb Cole and Will Sandfoss still on the mend as well as the JV QB. With all that said Newport will get a heavy dose of D. Welch who is very tough to bring down. This one could be interesting as Newport is having a fine year.
  8. I attended the Conner vs NCC game this past Friday and I thought it was very purposeful and unsportsmanlike with their music. Almost every time NCC had the ball music was played between plays and for an extended period of time. It was even annoying during timeouts because it was very loud. The announcer was loud but he did give “props” to NCC on good plays. Conner was the better team and has some really nice players. I don’t think the music had anything to do with the outcome but was definitely beyond reasonable.
  9. Sophomore Ian Mann goes the distance for NewCath for a Perfect Game. Ian strikes out 9 Lloyd batters and also goes 2-3 at the plate. He is definitely someone to watch over the next couple of years. He has a very high baseball IQ and is really fun to watch at the plate. NCC was also led by Senior Garrett Schoulties going 2-3 with 3 RBI.
  10. Graduate 7 and no juniors in the program this year. Ben is a great coach and he will work hard to develop the “youngsters” that he has coming back.
  11. Jake is a super young man! Quietly goes about his job and always giving 100%. He is the ideal teammate. Congrats!
  12. During the Lloyd vs. NewCath game this week one of the NCC players fouled out. Coach Luhn called his team over prior to subbing. Three of the Lloyd players followed and basically stood in the huddle watching and listening to what coach was telling his team. I am assuming the opposing team has the right to be “in the huddle” because it is not an official timeout? I have never seen it done before but the officiating crew did not say anything to them.
  13. I expected St. Henry to win by 15 or more going off of recent NCC play. They have really been turning the ball over way too much and they also have not played the best since losing Eglian. I do think some have stepped up in his absence but just not the scoring threat Caleb is. St. Henry also seemed to have a lot of turnovers last night that kept it close. If they stayed out of foul trouble I think it would have been a larger margin.
  14. I heard Kramer tweaked an ankle in practice and did not play.
  15. I probably wasn’t exactly clear earlier. Maybe the number is no longer the smallest 125 but the smallest 90 or 100 schools to get it closer to what it was meant to be as a small school tournament. Consolidation has definitely played a role with the numbers.
  16. Man this really has my brain spinning! We have six classes in football, three classes in track and mostly all other sports are non- classified. I would think following the football classifications would probably get you closer to what I would consider “A” vs “2A” than that of track.
  17. It sounds like it might make sense for those that oversee the All “A” to take a hard look at the smallest 125 schools and adjust that number to continue to make it a true small school tournament. I get that there is not a set enrollment number but it seems like that number used to be around 325 and now it has risen to 500-600.
  18. Since the All “A” Tournament has started or getting ready to start in most regions I thought we could discuss what the guidelines are for what dictates who is an “A” school. Now that there is a “2A” tournament it seems like some schools enrollment would indicate they should be in “2A” and not “A”. Can anyone educate me on what makes a school an “A” school?
