Final.

Is the khsaa scoreboard correct?  Holmes only scored 12 points this season?   That doesn't seem possible.

Wow.  I knew they were struggling, but I didn't realize it was that bad. Wasn't but a couple years ago they had a really decent team.

This is currently all across the board basically with Holmes athletics. They have become noncompetitive against their “traditional” schedules.

My take on the game last night is nothing but respect for the Holmes players and staff.  I never saw one player with his head down, they hustled on and off the field and showed great sportsmanship.  The coaching staff celebrated when players made good plays and coached them when they didn’t. They did not seem to overreact to a bad play.  They patted the player on the helmet and coached them to be better.  Hopefully they can continue to coach them up and grow the game at Holmes.

It's tuff when you only dress 18 for a game. Makes practice difficult.  I did see Holmes coaches do a nice job when players came off the field.  Always trying to coach the players up and learn from their mistakes.  Sad to watch because Holmes was competitive years ago. Wishing them better fortune in the future. It's a tuff road until you get the numbers up.

They do have a solid Middle school group coming up I believe. Hope this is just a rough patch for this program.

I thought when they hired Nevels that they were making a great hire. Hearing that he and his staff aren’t down on themselves or the kids makes me know the made the right choice.
