The field is now set: Top seed Minnesota Lynx takes on the 8 seed NY Liberty 2 seed Golden State Valkyries vs 7 seed Dallas Wings 3 Seed Las Vegas Aces against the 6 seed Indiana Fever 4 seed Atlanta Dream takes on the 5 seed Washington Mystics I'm kind of expecting chalk. but I would not be surprised to see Indiana take out Vegas (beat them 2 of three in the season series), nor would I be shocked if Washington beat Atlanta. Mystics finished strong down the stretch. Should be fun.

Minnesota 86 Indiana 66 Not an overly surprising outcome. It was going to be a tough game anyway but the only Fever starter that played meaningful minutes was Kelsey Mitchell (22 Minutes; Clark played only 18, Boston 13). Mitchell finished with 10 points, snapping her streak of games of 20+ points at 27. With the loss, Indiana drops to the 6 seed in the playoffs and will take on Las Vegas in the opening round. Indiana took 2 of the 3 games against the Aces in the regular season. It is now playoff time for Indiana. More basketball to come.

I am as well. I will watch tomorrow night, but if I were a betting man, I'd guess Indiana gets throttled in Minnesota. Hope not, but just a gut feeling, seeing as the Lynx starters have to be ticked with being benched for the second half last night. Hope I'm wrong. Entering the post season on a losing note is never a good idea.

Indiana 96 Minnesota 77 Caitlin Clark scores 27 and dishes 9 assists as the Fever get a big win. Kelsey Mitchell scores 20, to push her streak to 27 straight 20+ point games. Still shaky though. Fever had a 29 point lead at the half, but played a horrible third to let the Lynx (mostly playing reserves) back into it. But they made a good run to end the game for the 18 point win. Minnesota played without Olivia Miles. Up next: Final regular season game, at Minnesota on Thursday.

If South Carolina gets blasted by Alabama, Shane Beamer may be on borrowed time.

Add Miami into that small pool of potential number 1, certainly top 5 picks.

Defense showed up when needed. O-line still has massive issues. Wouldn't be shocked to see the coaching staff have a lineup of pentential linemen at the office tomorrow looking for a spot.

Washington 93 Indiana 77 Caitlin Clark led all scorers with 25 but it wasn't enough as the Mystics once again solved the Fever this season. Washington led by Kiki Iriafen's 21. Fever now in 5th which would have them playing Atlanta in round one without home court advantage. Up next Tuesday at home then Thursday on the road against Minnesota.

Indiana 103 Toronto 85 Kelsey Mitchell scores 33 (breaking the single season record for most points) as the Fever move into a tie for 4th place (and home court advantage in the playoffs opening round) with Atlanta. Caitlin Clark added 28 points and 14 assists in the win. It gets tough for the Fever to close out the season. Washington at home on Sunday (Indiana is ahead of them in the standings, but has struggled against the Mystics this season.). They then close out with a home game against the best team in the W, Minnesota, to be followed up by a road game against Minnesota. Should be an exciting week.

That was about 25 minutes before the game started so not everyone was in their seat. Crowd actually wasn't too bad, even though there were a lot more Dodger fans than Reds fans there.

A lot was made about the more veteran members of Team USA not respecting or caring for the "young and turnt" members of the squad this year. I quasi-get it. The core of Team USA is changing. The Taurasi's, Griners and other's are retired or near retirement and veterans in any sport never want to feel old. But the fact is, when the "Young and Turnt" crew was allowed to play and played well, the US won and won easily. When they were limited and didn't play well, Team USA struggled. Scratching my noodle a bit on this. Last night was Covington Catholics Homecoming dance. When was the last time a team had a homecoming following a game on the road?

United States 97 France 79 Breanna Steward leads with 22 points (the first American to score over 20 in a game during the tournament) as the US takes home their 5th straight FIBA World Cup gold. SHOCKED that the US won by this much. I thought of all teams in the field, France was the one that would give the US a run for their money. For a half they did. France led by 2 at the half, but the US defense in the second half was as good as it had been all tourney and they ran away with the game in the third, outscoring France 30-12. I'm sure both teams will be doing some retooling before the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Congrats to Team USA.
