With a full week in between the end of the semi-finals and the finals (Both series were sweeps), I will be interested in seeing the TV ratings for these finals. One week is a long time to go when you don't have one of the marquee teams in the series and the NFL, College football and the MLB Championship series are all going on. This may have the W re-thinking how to schedule their playoffs.

Dalton was released Friday by Philadelphia. At age 39, this may be the end for the "Red Rifle". Depending on what happens here in the near future with QB situations (how long will Jayden Daniels be out...Who is the next QB to go down) he may get a look, but that doesn't look overly likely. As a Bengals fan, the teams inability to win in the post season when he was here and playing over shadowed all the positives he did to get them there. Cincy fans will do it, but they really shouldn't complain too much about the QB play in this town over the last 2 decades. Carson Palmer to Dalton to Burrow...That's a better than average run. If this is the end of Dalton's career, I wish him the best in the post football life.

The SEC as a whole needs a few "pump the brakes" moments. Outside of Georgia and maybe Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri, the conference as a whole is mediocre. It is not the juggernaut it was a decade ago.

Golden State takes out the defending champs as they complete the 3 game sweep of the Las Vegas Aces, 87-77. Vegas rallied to get the game into OT, but the Valkyries dominated the extra period to take home the win. The finals are set: Atlanta vs Golden State. Game 1 is Next Saturday (10/17) at Golden State.

Atlanta advances to the finals with a sweep of the NY Liberty, taking game 3, 85-83. I tried watching it, but the officiating in the first quarter and a half was so atrocious that I had to turn it off.

The first 2 are great. Their idea of letting the top seed pick which Wild-card round winner they want to play is stupid and needs to be dropped. Just man up and play who's in front of you. The last one needs to be dropped as well. Baseball always whines about not having a next generation of fan and it's because of stuff like this. The best games of the whole season and they want them all at night, where kids are less likely to be around when they end. Less 8:30 starts and more 4:15 games. Then kids are out of school and can either go to the park or watch on TV, have it be done by 6:30ish and then still have time to get school stuff done and chill before bed. So much better than an 8:30 start and the future fans are in bed by the 4th inning.
