  1. Defense showed up when needed. O-line still has massive issues. Wouldn't be shocked to see the coaching staff have a lineup of pentential linemen at the office tomorrow looking for a spot.
  2. 2 games, 1 offensive TD. Todd Haley back in the booth? Maybe they need to try someone new under center, but if they bench Aaron, those old Rogers/McCarthy grudges could resurface and turn the locker room into an abyss. Interesting week in the Steel City.
  3. Washington 93 Indiana 77 Caitlin Clark led all scorers with 25 but it wasn't enough as the Mystics once again solved the Fever this season. Washington led by Kiki Iriafen's 21. Fever now in 5th which would have them playing Atlanta in round one without home court advantage. Up next Tuesday at home then Thursday on the road against Minnesota.
  4. Iowa's visitor's locker room has been painted pink since 1979.
  5. Indiana 103 Toronto 85 Kelsey Mitchell scores 33 (breaking the single season record for most points) as the Fever move into a tie for 4th place (and home court advantage in the playoffs opening round) with Atlanta. Caitlin Clark added 28 points and 14 assists in the win. It gets tough for the Fever to close out the season. Washington at home on Sunday (Indiana is ahead of them in the standings, but has struggled against the Mystics this season.). They then close out with a home game against the best team in the W, Minnesota, to be followed up by a road game against Minnesota. Should be an exciting week.
  6. That was about 25 minutes before the game started so not everyone was in their seat. Crowd actually wasn't too bad, even though there were a lot more Dodger fans than Reds fans there.
  7. Beautiful day for baseball. Too bad the Reds had little offense and even less pitching.
  8. Knee jerk reaction to week one: Cleveland, Miami, Indianapolis. One of these three teams will have the top pick in the 2027 draft and the other 2 will be in the top 5.
  9. A lot was made about the more veteran members of Team USA not respecting or caring for the "young and turnt" members of the squad this year. I quasi-get it. The core of Team USA is changing. The Taurasi's, Griners and other's are retired or near retirement and veterans in any sport never want to feel old. But the fact is, when the "Young and Turnt" crew was allowed to play and played well, the US won and won easily. When they were limited and didn't play well, Team USA struggled. China (94-61 win): Clark - 25 minutes, 14 points, 11 assists Bueckers - 20 minutes, 14 points Howard - 18 minutes, 14 points Italy (55-52 win): Clark - 19 minutes, 1 point, 1 assist Bueckers - 19 minutes, 7 points Howard - 9 minutes 2 points Czechia (105-64 win): Clark - 22 minutes, 9 points, 7 assists Bueckers - 19 minutes, 10 points Reese - 20 minutes, 13 points Hungary (108-56 win): Clark - 20 minutes, 10 points, 9 assists Bueckers - 20 minutes, 7 points Howard - 17 minutes, 15 points Spain (76-66 win): Clark - 16 minutes, 1 point, 1 assist Bueckers - 17 minutes, 6 points Howard - 11 minutes, 5 points Reese - 12 minutes, 5 points France (97-79 win): Clark - 13 minutes, 12 points, 3 assists Bueckers - 3 minutes, 0 points Howard - 17 minutes, 2 points, 4 steals It will be interesting to see the team make-up in Los Angeles in 2 years. Plenty of other young talented players out there that could make an impact.
  10. I'm sure Jerry is happy that Dallas looks positively pedestrian.
  11. It was all just a popularity contest. We all knew who the popular kids were/are....No need to announce it at halftime of a game you are winning 42-0. LOL
  12. Just put Cleveland on the clock right now.
  13. Scratching my noodle a bit on this. Last night was Covington Catholics Homecoming dance. When was the last time a team had a homecoming following a game on the road?
  14. United States 97 France 79 Breanna Steward leads with 22 points (the first American to score over 20 in a game during the tournament) as the US takes home their 5th straight FIBA World Cup gold. SHOCKED that the US won by this much. I thought of all teams in the field, France was the one that would give the US a run for their money. For a half they did. France led by 2 at the half, but the US defense in the second half was as good as it had been all tourney and they ran away with the game in the third, outscoring France 30-12. I'm sure both teams will be doing some retooling before the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Congrats to Team USA.
  15. South Carolina 45 Towson 9. Coming up next week the Gamecocks start playing real teams when they host Mississippi State.
  16. Wow!!! Did OSU dirty their drawers in the 4th or what? Unreal
  17. Not a surprise, South Carolina is up 24-3 on Towson. Game is in a lightning delay with about 12 minutes left in the third.
  18. Aggies. Road games in the SEC are always tough and Kyle Field can be one of the toughest.
  19. The first fraud of the season has been exposed.
  20. Never had issues at the Florence location (service or food wise.) Last time my daughter and I were there though, the building looked like it was in need of a good cleaning and some repair. And the business at the time didn't make me think they were generating enough cash flow to be able to do it. Which apparently, they weren't.
  21. Haven't watched the whole game, just bits an pieces. Bama does not look like a top 15 team, which makes this even worse for the Cats.
  22. Crazy game. One injury and Mike is set for life, as are his kids, and grand kids and probably great grand kids. Congrats.
  23. United States 76 Spain 66 Team USA is lucky to be moving on to the finals as they played another less than stellar game. Zero flow on offense. Lucky for them Spain couldn't keep from fouling. US won this game at the line, going 27-35 (to Spain's 10-11) Breanna Stewart leads the Americans with 16. They had better bring their A+ game tomorrow or France will wipe the floor with them. Hopefully they will keep their trend of following a dud with a really great performance. Finals tomorrow: USA vs France at 2:00. I will try to watch, but if my daughter has her way, it will be Bengals and Bucs.
  24. https://www.thestreet.com/restaurants/ocharleys-restaurant-closures I'm assuming this means the ones in Kentucky as well. Closest to me was in Florence. Haven't been there in about a year and last time I was there it looked like they were struggling. This doesn't really come as a shock.
  25. In the coaching staffs defense, they kind of got thrown for a mini loop when A'ja Wilson withdrew from the tournament just before the start. She was going to be the rock around which the rest of the gameplan was built and with little notice, she was out. So they were "scrambling" a little bit. The rotations have been fine. With the exception of the game against Italy, where everyone on Team USA struggled, they have been highly effective. Spain will be a challenge and we will see how they handle it. France will be the bear.
