2026 Indiana Fever
She has been on an absolute heater since mid-June...Well really all year. Her lowest point output this season; 14 in the 7th game of the season

2026 Indiana Fever
Indiana 113 Chicago 90 Caitlin Clark goes for 37 (and 10 assists) to lead all scorers. Kelsey Mitchell adds 30. Indiana played without Aliyah Boston. Fever set a franchise record with 18 made threes in the game. Chicago was lead by Natasha Cloud's 16. Next up: Friday at home against the Connecticut Sun, then the FIBA World Cup break.

2026 Indiana Fever
New York 109 Indiana 102 Kelsey Mitchell leads all scorers with 25, her 22nd straight 20+ point game. Fever lost this one at the foul line, going just 11-22 (Liberty were much better at 24-29) Due to games played last night (I didn't research to see how it fell) they Fever clinched a playoff spot for the post season. Part 2 of the back to back tomorrow at Chicago, then a little break before a home game against Connecticut on Friday. That will be the last game before the FIBA World Cup in Germany (Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are on the roster for Team USA)

2026 Indiana Fever
Dallas 91 Indiana 85 Outside of Kelsey Mitchell's 37 points (her WNBA record 21st straight game with 20+ points), Indiana was awful offensively tonight. Not a fun game to watch because, with the exception of a brief spurt in the third quarter, the game had zero flow. Learn and move on. Back to back coming this weekend. At New York on Saturday; at Chicago on Sunday

2026 Indiana Fever
Last night game marked the 16th time that both Mitchell and Clark have scored 20+ in the same game this season. A new WNBA record for teammates (Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter did it 15 times for Phoenix in the 2008 season. https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/I'd/49654028/fever-kelsey-mitchell-scores-29-points-sitting-4th-quarter-combines-caitlin-clark-wnba-duo-record Article also stated that it was the temperature in the building that caused Indiana to pull Mitchell in the 4th.

2026 Indiana Fever
Indiana 101 Toronto 95 Kelsey Mitchell leads all scorers with 29 (her league record tying 20th consecutive game with 20+) and Caitlin Clark adds 24 and 7 assists. Mitchell did not play the fourth quarter as she left the bench and headed to the locker room with a still unknown issue. Hopefully nothing serious. The AC was not working in the arena and the players and commentators mentioned it was extremely hot inside. So maybe just a precaution since they will certainly need Mitchell for the playoff run. It is the 5th straight win for the Fever and they, for the time being, move into 3rd place in the standings. Marina Mabrey leads the Tempo with 22. Up next: at Dallas on Thursday.

Ben Jones passes at age 84
Best remembered for his role as "Cooter" on The Dukes of Hazzard. One of my favorite shows as a kid. https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/10/entertainment/ben-jones-dukes-hazzard-dead-scli RIP.

Tommy John passes at 83
288 wins and 2200+ Stikeouts over 26 seasons for 6 teams but it was the career saving surgery that bears his name for which he will be most remembered. He was the test subject for the procedure that forever changed baseball. RIP

2026 Indiana Fever
Indiana 95 Atlanta 91 (OT) Caitlin Clark scores 26 and adds 9 assists for the Fever. McKayla Timpson scores a career high 20 for Indiana and Kelsey Mitchell hits for 20 for the nineteenth consecutive game. Atlanta’s Allisha Gray led all scorers with 32. Dream had a chance to win at the end of regulation but Angel Reese and Nazz Hillmon both miss point blank layups in the closing seconds. Up next: at Toronto on Tuesday.

I need to make a trip up for a Pacers game. Haven't seen them since they were still playing in Market Square.

2026 Indiana Fever
It was a lot of fun. Game was great. Getting to the the arena and to your seat is extremely easy (yet somehow there is always that group of people at every sporting event that are utterly confused when it comes to locating there sections and seats.) Concessions are reasonable for a sporting event. We got chicken tenders with fries, burger with fries, a souvenier cup soda and a gatorade for less than $45. Not cheap, but compared to a Reds or Bengals game, not bad. Getting out of the arena was a little chaotic, but as long as you make a plan and stick to it, it's pretty painless. Parking is outstanding, as we prepaid for a spot in the garage that has a tunnel that attaches to the arena, so getting from the car to the game and back is a breeze. Overall, the Indiana Fever game experience is well worth the money.

2026 Indiana Fever
From last night: Indiana 98 Dallas 87 Caitlin Clark scores 29 and has 10 assists to lead the Fever to the win. Kelsey Mitchell adds 23 for her 17th straight game of 20+ points. There was about a 2 minute stretch in the 3rd quarter where Clark and Paige Bueckers were trading buckets, and it was as exciting as basketball gets. Bueckers led Dallas with 29 points. Up next, at Atlanta tomorrow.

Hunter Greene
Two Tommy John’s is not unprecedented, but it certainly does not bode well for Hunter or the Reds.

2026 Indiana Fever
Indiana 106 New York 92 Kelsey Mitchell leads all scorers with 28. Caitlin Clark with 22 and 10 assists. 15th time the Fever have topped the century mark this season, a WNBA record. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu both had 19 for the Liberty. Up next, the Dallas Wings on Friday. My daughter and I will be in attendance.

2026 Indiana Fever
Wasn't a blocked shot, just bumped while driving to the basket and knocked her off course just enough to drive her out of bounds.

Coach Lynn Ray, Happy Belated 80th Birthday
Happy Birthday, Coach!! I remember hanging out on his sidelines as a little kid. He was always larger than life to me, but always treated me with love and kindness. From the time I was that snot-nosed kid, through my time at CovCath, my career covering sports and to this day.

What has happened to my Frisch's Big Boy?
Was in Florence today and passed the old location on Dream Street. It is now, or soon to be, a Toku Revolving Sushi Bar restaurant. Signage is up, but it didn't look to be in operation just yet.

2026 Indiana Fever
Indiana 90 Chicago 86 Caitlin Clark scores 26 and dishes out 11 assists as the Fever get back on the winning track. Kelsey Mitchell leads all scorers with 27. She has score 20+ in 16 straight games, a single season record (A'ja Wilson scored 20+ in 20 consecutive games over 2 seasons) Clark did pick up a Tech for bumping an official. It would be her 8th and result in her being suspended from Tuesday's game. She was driving for a layup and the shot was blocked. The contact resulting from the play pushed her along the baseline and her momentum took her along the baseline and into the ref. It was a bogus call and the WNBA has already reviewed and rescinded the Technical Foul, so Clark will be in the lineup Tuesday vs the NY Liberty.

2026 Indiana Fever
Vegas 86 Indiana 84 (OT) Completely frustrating game to watch. Fever had a 20 point lead in the second quarter until the Aces' Jackie Young went on a 14-0 run to end the quarter to pull Vegas back into it. Chelsey Gray hits a game tying 3 at the buzzer to send it to OT, then hits a game winning 3 at the buzzer in the OT. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 28. Learn and move on.

Cincinnati Reds (August 2026)
Going to be tough to gain anything the way the Brewers and the Cubs are playing. Chicago may be the hottest team in MLB right now.

Hunter Greene
Much longer and he will be dead contract weight for the Reds. No one else will take him. He spends more time on the IL than anywhere.
