Our Reds stand at 52-57, 16 games out of first place to start August.

The next two days are going to be interesting to see what moves the Reds make or don't make. They are playing better since the all star break and making the postseason is within reach. If they somehow make the postseason and have Greene and Burns at the top of the rotation, they could be a dangerous team. Anything can happen in baseball. Even with an offense as bad as the Reds'.

The Reds fall tonight to the Pirates 4-1.

Reds up 3-0 after 1 inning.

4-0 Reds after 2.

Reds up 9-1 after 4 innings. Call off all trades, this team is playoff bound. LOL

Reds 9-1 after 6.

Still 9-1 Reds after 7.

10-2 Reds after 8 full.

Reds win 10-2. They score 10 runs on 10 hits.

Reds win 3 out 4 over the Pirates and are 10-6 since the All-Star break. Next up to close out the 10-game home stand is a 3-game series against the A's on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Tuesday and Wednesday games start at 6:40 and the Thursday game is 12:40.

Tyler Stephenson was very emotional in an interview following today's game after he hit that solo home run. It could have been his last Red's at-bat. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Jim Day got choked up also, mentioning that Stephenson’s 1st AB as a Red was a home run and that perhaps his last was fittingly also a HR. Called him a “good man” patted him on the shoulder and called him a “pro’s pro”. Well done.

I like Jim. He gets close to the players which makes the post game interviews more enjoyable to watch.

Reds trail the A's 1-0 after 3 1/2 innings.
