I don't think that can be answered until it gets closer to the trade deadline after he has made 2 or 3 more starts. Right now I would trade but not sure what you could get until teams see at least a couple of more starts.

That's what I actually meant without saying such.  Totally agree he will have to show he can still throw the ball.

If someone is willing to give up good prospects for a suspect arm...go for it.

Hunter spends more time on the IL than he does on the mound.

Cannot trade him now. He has to have success and create value. If he can get back to his pre-injury form, then you can get talent for him in a trade.

The players to trade are the ones that are gone next year for sure. And maybe somebody who will be gone after next year. The talented players you have control of contractually and can manage your payroll with need to stay here.

With this caveat - if you get a great offer, anyone can be traded. 

The other factor is this. Do you trust the judgment of Nick Krall and his scouts? Keep the team as is. Clean house in the front office. That is what needs to be blown up. Let a new front office come in and decide who stays and who goes.

We all know Krall needs to go, but how do you fire the owner?  Do you really want to pay Greene 15 million next year?

I definitely do not want to trade him now. His current value is low. If he can get 2 or 3 good starts and show he is back, then see what offers come in. He was one of the top pitchers in baseball in 2024 and 2025. I want that level of value for him when he is traded.

I understand the 3/4 more starts which should bring us to the trade deadline.  The guy is 25 and 30 lifetime, he looks to me like another Homer Bailey, it's to produce.  He's just not worth 15 million next year.

There are 32 starting pitchers making 15 million a year. A healthy Hunter Greene absolutley is one of the top 32, probably top 15. The health factor is the big risk. If he stays healthy the rest of the year, the Reds could get a lot of talent in a trade for him. IMO wait till the off season for sure to trade him. They could even wait till 2027 off season. Let's not make another Aroldis Chapman trade mistake. Maximize the value.

Health is a big concern for sure. Look at his stats in 2024 and 2025. I am good with trading him but I want the value that a pitcher with those stats should bring.

7.0 Innings, 3 Hits, 0 Earned Runs, 12 Strikeouts, 93 Pitches (68 were Strikes)

I think he answered that question tonight. Still need to see it consistently, but he looked pretty darn good.

Did he ever end up walking anyone?

Hunter has returned to the IL, 15 day this time. Right elbow soreness. Oh isn't it great.
