Someone asked earlier where our current POTUS was. How can our current POTUS give a state tax incentive?

 

I doubt Carrier is going to announce they are keeping jobs b/c Mr Trump promised contracts in the future. How could he ever make such a promise? Carrier isn't going to do a "trust me" deal.

 

That leaves us with one real reason they stayed. Gov Pence gave state tax dollars to them. Worked. So instead of asking where the current POTUS is shouldn't the question be "why wasn't the state tax incentive put forth by Gov Pence offered earlier?"

Sure. I dont care how he got them to stay. If it took Trump to get it done then great.

 

I would think Trump will work with other Governors to help keep jobs in all the states. I dont care if he threatened them to pull the contracts either. Nothing wrong with saying if you take your jobs to Mexico, get you some new contracts there. That may seem bad and totally unlike how things have been, but I am totally for it.

 

Bottom line is he as in President Elect Trump got it done, by negotiating. Exactly what he said he would do. America First. If this is the case then shame on Pence along with the current and past presidents for not doing much much more of this.

I dont know why the offer was not made earlier. I would guess there was more to this than what will be released. Whatever the reasons are this was announced last year if I read this right about them leaving. With that said, I dont think you can argue that Trump negotiated this deal for them to stay, and did it before he was even swore in.

 

I will say whatever happened should have happened much sooner. Do you know how much money it will take to reverse this process of moving a plant like this that has been in the works for a year almost? I do. I moved one right out of Kentucky in 2003 that I was a plant manager over. 10:1 he threatened them behind the scenes and they did not call the bluff. To much $$$ to lose. I love it. America first and hopefully( and I say hopefully) he takes on all the big companies that are trying to leave for cheap labor. America first.

How he did it wasn't the only problem. He added millions to the Medicaid rolls, which took out of the system instead of paying into it. The ACA was implemented when no one was allowed to read it or discuss it to see if it was going to work. As we see now, it is a train wreck and was filled with lies, "Like you plan you can keep it, like your doctor you can keep him", etc.

 

These two aren't even remotely close.

 

I don't see you complaining that President Obama paid off the unions to keep GM in business.

That sucks for this company. Which country are they moving their plant.

I hope he releases the terms of this agreement, so that state and local officials will use this model. We have some jobs in my neck of the woods that are headed south before the wall goes up.

It's an optical illusion. This company has contracts with the federal government so while Trump did good in saving these jobs the question remains with how did he do it? It appears he made a nice deal with Carrier to make sure they continue to get those federal government contracts that they have. I'm guessing the deal was either keep the jobs in America instead of sending them to Mexico or you won't get anymore government contracts that help keep your company afloat.
