My roommate and longtime best friend is Billy Ray Cyrus' nephew and Miley's cousin. I've been around them a decent amount and stayed at their house in Nashville once. Aside from that, I guess just being around UK players on campus and stuff. Ate at Tolly Ho's with Boogie and Wall one night. Boogie was a cool dude, really talkative and funny. Wall was pretty quiet the whole time.

My mom worked at the cancer center in Ashland for a while and Dykes Potter was one of her patients. I got to spend some time talking with him and got a lot of autographed stuff. He was one of the nicest men I've ever met.

ONce played blackjack with Rex Chapman at the Metropolis, IL Casino. I was in college looking for a table and noticed an opening. I asked if the seat was taken and after I set down I realized I was next to Chapman.

Looking back on things, I've had a few worth mentioning:

-I talked Ben Folds into stopping in at the Anchor Grill in Covington after his show at Bogarts in 2001. Bought him goetta, and talked about music for about an hour. It was pretty cool.

-The house I grew up in had a little cottage in the backyard. There was an 80+ year old retired waitress named Hope who lived there when I was a kid. Pete Rose used to pay her a visit every month or so. Perez and Bench both stopped by with him as well. No joke, there was an occasion where I was playing pickle in the backyard with some friends, and then Pete Rose came walking down the driveway to visit Hope. He waved, called my by name, and then signed every single kids' baseball glove. I was officially the coolest guy in the third grade for about a month.

-I drank beer with Third Eye Blind down at my buddy's place in Perry Park 8 or 9 years back. We were partying down by the dock at the lake, and the guys from the band came cruising over on a pontoon boat. Stephan Jenkins got so drunk he fell in the lake and had to get pulled out....he had been macking hard on my buddy's girlfriend, too.

-After me senior year of high school, I went down to Grand Cayman and stayed in the same resort as Prince Andrew, Duke Of York. We were in the main resort, and they were in the royals' private villa. I got a HUGE kick out of buying him a beer in the bar (as an eighteen year old), and I may or may not have had a really awkward run-in with him while I may or may not have been on the drunker side of things on the beach one afternoon.

-Bought Senator Jim Bunning a beer at the St. Therese parish festival in Southgate a couple Fridays ago. He actually knew my mom really well when I was younger - and I have an autographed rookie card from him. After I gave him the beer at the festival, I asked him what he really thought about mountain top mining and hydraulic fracturing. He was not happy about my question, and he wasn't much for conversation after that.

-One of my friends used to work for Budweiser, and in the course of doing promotional events, he made decent buddies with Adam Dunn. I used to go to Cosmo's in Covington with him pretty regularly.

-I went to a high school dance with Max Montoya's daughter. She's still smokin' hot...

-I used to hang out at Tom Browning's house pretty frequently. I was in a crowd with his daughter Tiffany for a brief while. Neither Mr. Perfect or his daughter were very perfect...

-I ran into Benicio Del Toro at a the Hilton in downtown Cincinnati a number of years back. I was there for a rehearsal dinner, and he was staying at the hotel at the time. He's a funny dude.

-I've been punched in the face by two guys who played in the Super Bowl. One was a fistfight (J-Load), and the other was while sparring during a Guildigli Strength & Stamina boxing match (Shaun Alexander).

-I've been hanging out with Josh Harrelson here and there all summer.

I met Mike Tyson many years ago in a restaurant in Arizona. He was upstairs at the head of this table full of people. My friend and I were determined to go up and get his autograph. We were stopped at the top of the stairs by 2 huge guys and Mike waved us in! Really nice guy! Gave us each a couple of autographs for us and the girls who were too chicken to come up with us.

Ohhhh...I played pool with John Mayer at Top Cats in Cincinnati a little before he got signed by Columbia. He had been an opener at a show I saw up the street that night at Bogart's. I was fairly impressed by his talent on the guitar, and I actually kept up with him by email briefly. He turned out to be a total tool though. Tried to get my good friend - who was engaged at the time - to sleep with him. She wouldn't have it, he pouted like a 6 year old.
