I have met Brandon Phillips twice. Once I just got an autograph and then when he was at the Dixie-SK game two weeks ago I got to chat with him for a few minutes and get a picture. Was a really nice guy.

 

Met Antwan Odom while out one night. He gave me his phone number but I've never used it.

 

Brandon Phillips is awesome! A couple of years ago my son was playing baseball up in Westchester. All of a sudden Phillips is standing behind the backstop watching our 10 u game. He watched and talked to the parents for a couple of innings. Hung around until the game was over and talked to both teams, took pictures with each team, took individual pictures with each kid and he was autographing bats and gloves like there was no tomorrow. He said he had been to Joe Morgan's Honda and had just been driving around and saw the ballfields and just wanted to watch some baseball. It was an off day for the reds and you could tell that he was as happy to see the kids as the kids were happy to see him.

I got to sit with him at a Bracken game once and i was also granted permission to take in not one but TWO 10th region tournament games with him and Randy Parker!!! :thumb: #stoked

I get that question all the time as well as the follow up statement "I've never met anyone from Delaware before!". I met my wife, who is originally from this area in college. She really wanted to move back to this area after we had been living in Philadelphia for a few years, so we picked up and moved.

 

Pretty much the same story here (originally from Maryland).

Used to hang out on the lake with Max Montoya and Anthony Munoz some.. Mario Lopez used to come a lot too, but haven't seen them in years.. Diane Sawyer is my wife's distant cousin and has attended several family events over the years.. Met and spoke with Jack Roush several times at the dock where he kept his houseboat..

Here's a true story...my mom was sitting on her porch one day(my kids were there playing in the house) when a lady and her mother, while on a walk, stopped in front of mom's house to look at the back of a school she lived by. My mom, a talker, strolled out and chatted for a while. When the ladies got ready to leave the younger one invited mom to come see her the next evening at the Ashland boat ramp(Ashland's Summer Motion)...went right over mom's head and they chatted a while longer. When finally leaving, she invited mom once again... and mom said "Why Honey, who are you anyway?" She said, I'm Naomi Judd....Mom said, "I had no idea, would you come in and meet my granddaughters(Who were 4-7 years old)?" Naomi said absolutely and came in and played Barbie Dolls with my daughters. What an awesome story for my mom!

Played in a pickup game with Roderick Rhodes, Tony Delk, Walter McCarty, Jared Prickett and Wayne Tunrer. I stole the ball from Wayne Turner. He sucks.

 

Shared an elevator in Vegas with Mr. Marcus.

 

Had dinner at Rafferty's one night and Tubby Smith was entertaining some recruits.

 

Got an autograph from Darryl Strawberry at a Wallace Wilkinson campaign event in BG.

 

Walked by and spoke to Thad Matta in Indianapolis at the Adidas Invitational. He spoke back. I also walked past Roy Williams. He's a short little booger. Probably about 5'6". I didn't speak to him though. He ended up walking in front of my car to cross the street later. He's so short.

While in Nashville for a baseball tournament last summer my wife, myself and my son went to breakfast in the hotel. We sat at a table next to Phiilip Fulmer. My wife is the one that recognized him. She introduced herself to him and explained that she works for Anthony Munoz. Fulmer had coached Anthony's son while at Tennessee. Coach Fulmer was very polite and well spoken. We probably chatted for !5 minutes. Nice guy!

I had lunch with Tom Laughlin, his wife and daughter while working for the film industry.Tom starred in the movie "Billy Jack."

 

I also "squared up" against Rich Franklin. Got the picture to prove it. Take my word, he lost!

Oh, I forgot I had a beer with Dusty Baker once. It was the night the Reds won the Central on Bruce's walkoff in 2010. I went down to Fountain Square with a friend, then to the stadium to get a copy of the paper, and then headed back to the square. After awhile of partying with hundreds/thousands of Reds fans we decide to head to Headfirst sports bar. On the way we walked by Cordero, momentarily said hi to him. Once at Headfirst I noticed Dusty at the bar so I walked over to buy him a beer. He ended up buying me a beer and we talked for a few. Real nice guy.

I vaguely remember David Justice was in Germantown when I was a kid (mid 90s) and was going to play softball. As a kid it was just awesome seeing a mlb player crushing slow pitch softball pitches in the neighboring tobacco field. I mean really this guy as just on TV the other day with the Braves. Now he HERE in Germantown. Really??
