My son and daughter-in-law flew to LA to see her family and vacation in California on Saturday. I always ask that they give me a quick text when they arrive so I know they made it safely. They sent that text, and then sent another shotly after that they had walked behind Courteney Cox in the airport.

So, I was bored tonight, and was looking at celebrity gossip sites....and my son and daughter-in-law are in paparazzi pics of Courteney Cox! I can't stop laughing!

My daughter-in-law is the girl you can see in the background behind Courteney and Coco and whoever that guy is. My son is the guy in the red shirt behind the photogropher in the second picture.

I'll share my brush with fame.

One year during spring break, my two roommates and I went to L.A. Before we left for the trip, we secured audience tickets for a live taping of The King of Queens, one of our favorite shows at that time. Once we get to the studio, we were informed that it was "family and friends" day for the taping and our ticket was not guaranteed to actually get us in. Unfortunately, we ended up being turned away. As we were headed back to the parking garage, super bummed, we saw a couple of guys who were wearing King of Queens jackets. On a whim, mostly joking, I told them how bummed we were to be turned away and asked if they could get us in. What we didn't know at the time is that we were actually talking to producers of the show. They say, "Sure! Follow us." They lead us into the studio, right into the green room. The guy who played Deacon was sitting at the table eating within arm's length. The producers told us to hold on...they would find us some seats. A couple minutes later, Kevin James walked in and proceeded to escort us to V.I.P. seats. He then handed us a signed copy of the script for the episode we were there to see taped.

Needless to say, the whole thing was a pretty cool experience and makes for an interesting story. BTW, the episode we saw live was when Carrie finds out she miscarried. If you listen real closely, you could probably hear me laugh.

The fact that you laughed when she miscarried just made me laugh. Not sure who is more twisted based on that

My brushes...I almost hit Ken Griffey JR with my car in the Fudruckers parking lot in Florence in the summer of 05'. I walked past Sinbad and The guy who played Ashy Larry on the Chappel Show in the Atlanta Airport when I was on my way to my honeymoon. I was security for Anthony Davis at one of his autograph sessions.

My most memorable was when I was about 8 years old on vacation with my family. We were running around the hotel goofing off when there was a group of people locked out of the place and trying to get in the side door. I went to let them in, and at the front of the group was none other than Bob Hope who was there to perform at the concert hall at the hotel that night. It was one of the few times I've ever asked anyone for an autograph, and he hooked us up with some tickets for the show that night as his guest...

I think the other dude is the actor in the show with her and he's a huge UK fan.

I was in a club in Orlando in 1999. Went downstairs to hit the head. Came out and went left and bumped into a lady who was staring at something behind me. Turned around and Shaq was right behind me.

You can't appreciate how big he is until you're engulfed by him.

O'Hare Airport - 1. Walked from ticketing to the gate with Chris Rock. Well, not "with him" as in we were joking and talking sports but , you know, with him and 2. Was next to Mr T in a restaurant. Little kid walked up and asked for an autograph while he was standing there eating a hot dog. He literally grunted and the kid ran off and 3. Stood by Donnie and Marie while they were waiting on their luggage.

Got to spend some time @ Wildcat Lodge during my high school years, because a friend of mine was a manager on the team. Pretty big deal for me at the time. Got some pretty sweet gear out of the deal, including one of those Starter type Converse coats that nearly swallowed me whole. Still have that jacket somewhere, as well as Nazr Mohammad's sweatshirt.

I also met mcpapa at a Bracken County basketball game one time.

In 1961, my dad and I were in Cincinnati for a World Series game between the Reds and the Yankees. Dad took me to a hotel where the Yankees were staying. We were in the lobby and Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris got off of the elevator. I was able to get their autographs. Other than that, I have met Dale Mueller.

Sat in a waiting area in O'Hare a couple of years ago and Joan Jett and her manager were sitting right across from me. She was in NO mood to talk to anyone. Kept her head down the entire time unless she raised it to speak to her manager.

At Disney a few years ago we were staying in the Animal Kingdom lodge and Rob Van Winkle (Vanilla Ice) was staying there also. Ran into him at breakfast and around the pool. He was polite, held door for my wife and daughter, and would make eye contact with people and talk to them as much as you would talk to anyone you don't know.

Same Disney trip also saw the munchkin Michael Chiklis, he had about 10 people in his group and a Disney escort. The escort would take him and his family to the front of whichever line they wanted to get into. People tried to shake hands or get a high five as he walked past but he acted like he didn't see anyone....not a fan!

I have seen tons of celebs at corporate meetings but I don't count them due not being a random meeting...well except Cindy Crawford was 3 feet from her...meeting or not, seeing Cindy up close was awesome...BTW she was wearing Jeans and Tank Top from the Pepsi commercial.

In the bathroom at Churchill Downs, using the urinal next to me was Paul Hornung. Used to run into Anthony Munoz at the Fort Mitchell Krogers once in a while. Also met Pete Rose at the Joseph Car Dealership that used to be in downtown Cincinnati.
