Hedgehog! Nuff said!

Met and had picture taken with Kenny Walker in 1986. While working for Delta Airlines in the early to mid 90's, I met Pete Rose, Dr J, Garry Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and his wife. Also, in 1999 I met Kirk Windstein (Crowbar) at a Stormtroopers of Death show, Crowbar opened the show. Almost bumped into Zakk Wylde (former longtime Ozzy guitarist)coming out of restroom at Headliners in Louisville in 2000, at a Black Label Society (his band) show. Had picture taken with 3 members of Godsmack and "Big Val" (former head of security for Pantera) at Black Sabbath/Godsmack show at Riverbend in 1999. Talked to Jimmy Bower (Down, Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity) in a guitar store in Cincinnati in 2002. Was introduced to Jim Boeheim in November 2014 while on my daughters official visit at Syracuse. Had picture taken with David Allan Coe when he brought his bus into our shop in October 2015.

Justin Long is currently in Louisville filming a movie (apparently something based on a book called Project X by Jim Shepard). I ran into him over the weekend when my wife and I were at Sergio's World of Beers. I didn't engage him, but someone else sitting near me did. Long seemed like a ha-yuuuge tool.

Got to see John Travolta in person a couple of weeks ago on the movie set while filming the John Gotti Movie on Court St. in OTR Cincinnati.

 

Long story:

 

A couple of weeks ago I was hanging with my friend Michelle at Japp's in OTR listening to local singer Jess Lamb when she welcomed to the stage to join her on a handful of songs, actor Chris Mulkey who I really wasn't familiar with but sorta recall seeing him on TV.

 

He said that he could play until he received a text from his driver to take him to the movie set where he was to be in a scene. (He was an awful singer BTW).

 

Michelle is a fanatic about getting celebrity's autographs (she literally has so many that I've no doubt that she'd be in the running for some kind of world record), so she informed me that when this guy's driver showed up she wanted to follow the vehicle to the movie set.

 

Alright... I was on board for the adventure which took us only a few blocks away to Court St. where movie trucks, big lighting etc... could be found.

 

There were a handful of fan types and onlookers hanging out so we asked what was being filmed and was told The John Gotti Movie starring John Travolta.

 

Michelle just happened also to be a Travolta fanatic, so we hurried back to her place in Newport so that she could grab some items for him to sign, and swiftly made it back downtown to the movie set.

 

After hanging around until a little after Midnight, Travolta surfaced in a black turtle neck and black pants and addressed the crowd one by one with signings and selfies.

 

We were second in line and Michelle got a picture with him with his arm around her, and had him sign an old album cover. I didn't get all up in his business, but just hung there with Michelle watching him relate to the crowd.

 

He was very pleasant and respectful with everyone and gave the impression of just being a real nice dude who wasn't full of himself.

I had an encounter with Ali at CVG. He gave me a signed print.

I've met many athletes and famous folks over the years. Never bothered to get pics or ask for signatures.

Except for a few years ago I ran into Michael Rooker at LAX. Went up to him and told him my son and I were huge fans of TWD. He agreed to take a selfie with me. He took the pic, hesitated and asked how old my son was. I told him 19. he got us back in another photo flipping him off. So I get on the plane and I'm in 1B. He is across the aisle in 1C. In comes Norman Reedus and he sits in 1A. I ask him for a pic. He says he feels like crap but would give me an autograph. I show him the pic of Rooker and tell him its for my son. He agrees to get a pic of us and proceeds to give the finger in his pic as well. They were heading to Cincy (Sharonville) for a comicon show. Reedus was complaining about his hair being long and hot during the filming. When the season started back up Rooker had been killed. Had no idea at the time.

Kind of reminds me of when I met Courtney Love. Totally pleasant and very engaging. Apparently she had not been under the influence that day. Or just that I was taking pictures, and didn't immediately throw a big lens in her face once I figured out who she was.

Helped Lionel Ritchie find his connector flight in Atlanta many years ago.

Secretary of State - General Alexander Haig and his wife....early one morning while stationed at Ft Lewis, on leave for the weekend in Seattle, hungover, on an elevator at the Hilton....

 

Was certain that in my condition I was going to be summarily drummed out....

 

The guy was a giant and knew exactly why none of us was speaking. We reeked of weekend leave....

I've told this one on here before, but one year a decade or so ago, we were at the Opryland Hotel for the NWTF convention and we are headed to a banquet and the elevator doors open for us and the NRA president Charlton Heston was on there. I thought my mother would pass out.:lol2: My youngest with his camo button down on had no clue as Heston patted his red head and said "what a fine looking young man". My mom was verklempt.

 

So essentially the elevator doors parted and Moses was inside.
