I’m more of a Special Victim’s Unit fan. I think that when your mom allows a boyfriend to live with you for 3 to 5 years, starting at age 13 or 15, that’s just strange and weird. Did mom have her daughter’s best interest in mind? Does not sound like it. We don’t know. Maybe she felt she had no other way out. Maybe she did not want to be with the boyfriend that is living in her house, but her own mom gives her no choice.

My nephew lives in downtown Minneapolis. He has been posting Facebook live videos as he participates in the protests. On the first couple of days, the videos were powerful and uplifting, to see the sea of humanity, passionately gathering together. But now it is starting to turn ugly. Sunday’s video showed people marching down the on ramp to the freeway, but a line of police officers stood across the bottom of the ramp, preventing the protesters from getting on the freeway. The protesters were getting closer and closer to the police barricade. The police began to roll tear gas canisters towards the crowds so they would back from the freeway. In my observation, at that point, it was no longer peaceful. It was people being careless and stupid, trying to start an altercation with the Minneapolis police officers.

Agree. Or an employer placing you in job assignments based on what they may have learned about your medical history, and possibly giving the better opportunities to individuals that they deem healthier or younger.

I’m not sure anything has been proven. Generally speaking, the rigor is lower. Reliable assessment data is not feasible with this platform. We will have learning gaps that will continue to widen, the longer students are out of the classroom.

I want normal just as much as everyone else. I hope our health care system is ready.

If you are not wearing a mask, then please social distance. Sports are alive and well at the grocery store as I box out at the fridge cases to grab my milk before no distance/no mask dude commits a travel and a charge.

That would be an improvement. But the bigger difference would be if MEN watched women’s sports with the same passion that they watch men’s sports. But it’s not going to happen. This is not tomatoes/tomahtoes and potatoes/potahtoes. One could say that that it did not make a difference if their doctor/dentist/lawyer/teacher was a man or a woman. But with sports, this is an entertainment choice about how folks want to spend their bucks during their leisure time.

When I wear a mask in public: -I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus. - No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem. - I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me;” I feel like I’m being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same. -The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort. -If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place. - Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even “controlled.” It makes me considerate. -When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you - a child, a father, a mother, grandparent, aunt, or uncle - choking on a respirator , alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside. -Ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little for them.

Try as I might, I just don’t see this happening. “A couple thousand kids enter a building. The break into groups of 20-30, and go to a room for about 50 min. Then they go to another room with 20-30 different kids, for another 50 minutes. This happens 4 more times that day.” I struggle more with the logistics of running a school day, than the logistics of sports.

Agree. I understand that some of the employees are close in age to the students and even become good friends. But you just can’t, and think it’s ok. Not a good look. I tell my college kids to “make good choices.” Someone needs to tell the coaches to do the same.
