Story is he was taller than the other characters so they decided to find a shorter Fonzie. When Mickey Dolenz was cast as the Monkees' drummer he was thought to be perfect for the part except for one thing. He did not know how to play the drums. Had to immediately start lessons. He was always so shocked when I didn't know some weird piece of information. I guess he assumed college level history classes were big games of trivial pursuit.
