theguru
Cheerleaders may not be allowed and even if they are allowed they may have to wear masks. That is all to be determined.

So except for Trinity and St X, I'll have to drive out of Louisville to see football is what this says, correct?

theguru
Any mention, discussion, and media regarding politics or political figures is expressly prohibited on BluegrassPreps. This includes, but is not limited to the mention or names of any elected or publicly appointed officials, both domestic and foreign, by name, title, or by the offices held (e.g. - president, governor, chancellor, mayor, minister, senator, congressman, commissioner, attorney general, county clerk, magistrate, Beshear, Clinton, Lincoln, Merkel, Obama, Putin, Reagan, Roosevelt, Trudeau, Trump, etc). Any direct references or inferences to political terminology and activities, (e.g. - government, Democrat, Republican, GOP, conservative, liberal, campaign, lobby, legislature, filibuster, caucus, etc) and anything else deemed political in nature by the BGP staff is also prohibited from the site. Likewise, this also includes 3rd party links to articles that are political in name or in nature. Additionally, the use of names/nicknames deemed by the BGP staff as references to political figures (e.g. - Andy, Donald, Tricky Dick, Slick Willy) will not be permitted on BluegrassPreps. Keeping in mind BGP's core purpose as a sports-discussion community, discussion of the the managing bodies specifically serving over high school, college, amateur, and professional sports leagues (KHSAA, NCAA, IOC, MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL et al), along with the officers, officials and the titles held by the individuals within those organizations is permitted on BGP. Similarly, high school and college/university administrators and officials, when discussed in a strictly non-political manner, are all permissible on BGP. GOREDDEVILS
I hope they get to play the whole season. That would suck to start and get 4 games in and then have your season halted.

It would, but that's much better than pushing it another month and not getting to play at all.

I believe that somewhat depends. Unless I'm greatly mistaken, the BOC members are only there on behalf of schools that they represent, but do not speak directly to the actions all of those schools are going to take. Case in point: Mike Clines is a BOC member from NKY representing Regions 9-16, and he has 22 high schools he is representing. Clines is the superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Covington, which only has Bishop Brossart, Covington Catholic, Covington Holy Cross, Covington Latin, Newport Central Catholic, Notre Dame Academy, St. Henry, St. Patrick, and Villa Madonna high schools. So he only has direct decision-making power for 9 of the 22 high schools he is representing to the KHSAA. There are actually 3 Board Of Control members from the Louisville area, not including Debbie Beichler who is a KDE-appointed member of the BOC: 1) Marlon Miller is the BOC's president-elect for the 2020-2021 school year and is a principal at Martin Luther King Elementary in Louisville. 2) Jerry Wyman is the Director of Academics, Activities & Athletics for JCPS. 3) Mark Evans is the athletic director at Mercy Academy. Mark Evans voted in favor of proceeding with Option 1 after speaking up at least twice during general discussion in favor of proceeding as planned with Option 1. Marlon Miller and Jerry Wyman both voted against proceeding with Option 1, even after it was left as the defacto course of action after Option 2 & Option 3 (which they had previously voted for) had already failed.

Biggest takeaway, the Director of Academics, Activities & Athletics for Jefferson County Public Schools is clearly voting against proceeding with fall sports as planned, even while the football coaches from his school district are scrambling to get their football schedules updated and their teams ready.

Such as attendance restrictions etc. In regards to attendance, why not ask for a percentage of the amount of people the venue holds. Say 50% which would equal the number of people allowed in bars and restaurants. Then allow the players, coaches to purchase the tickets they need for their family members and the rest can be sold to students and fans in school and at the gates. First come first serve. In my opinion people outside of their own family units will be willing to social distance while watching the contest and most people interested would likely be able to attend.

Not sure what that will consists of the commissioner said they will submit guidelines by next Wednesday the way I understood what Mr. Tackett said.
