Potato salad with Kremer's being at the top of the list, even though I haven't had it for years.

I do like cole slaw though. One grandmother made the best traditional cole slaw. The other grandmother made the best hot slaw.

I highly recommend this one. Got the recipe from a neighbor. It's best if you make it the night/day before just because the ingredients mixed together to make the ranch dressing (sugar, salt/pepper, garlic clove, mayo, buttermilk, and vinegar) are much better the next day after they've had time for all of the flavors to combine together.

Bacon Ranch Potato Salad:

2 pounds red potatoes

8 strips of bacon

2-3 stalks celery, chopped

2 green onions, whites & greens both chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

2/3 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup buttermilk

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt & pepper, to taste

1) Cube potatoes, and boil until fork-soft, drain, and allow to cool.

2) Fry the bacon - crispier is better. Allow to cool and cut into bacon bits.

3) In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, garlic, and sugar.

4) In a larger mixing bowl, combine potatoes, bacon bits, celery, and green onion, before pouring the mayo/buttermilk/vinegar/garlic/sugar mixture over it all and mixing to combine.

5) Add salt and pepper, to taste.

I'm with SR on this one. I like both, but would choose one over the other depending on the main course.

If it's bbq, it's cole slaw.

Burgers and dogs, potatoe salad.

I do eat slaw much more often though, so I chose slaw. Personally, macaroni salad is my favorite.
