  1. Per his twitter Matt Thomas @CoachMatt502 After two seasons at Holy Cross, I have decided to step down as the @HCHSbasketball coach. I’d like to thank the school for the opportunity to lead their program, and the faculty and community for your support. Couldn’t have don’t it without my players and coaches! Thank you!
  2. Fern Creek has hired Roy Sutton. He was a 7 year head coach at Moore and was an Assistant previously at Fern Creek and Assistant at KCD last year.
  3. I'm blown away by the amount of talent I'm watching here today! Tons of future College and NBA Superstars! Watching Carlos Boozer's twin sons, Carmelo Anthony son, Jason Richardson son, saw Darren Harris get 36 points in first game second most points ever in 15 year history of this event, VJ Edgecombe which is as good as a high school player I've ever seen and I've seen a lot, and we haven't even got to Montverde and Cooper Flagg yet. Just amazing! #chipoltenationals
  4. I'm here ready for a full day of awesome basketball!
  5. Now that the season is over it is time to look ahead to next season! Great Crossing had a phenomenal year only losing one game in the state of Kentucky all year and that was to Lyon County in the Semifinals of state tournament. They will come back loaded and hungry to not only get back to Rupp but to win the state championship. Let's take a look at the contenders. Great Crossing- Region Champion. Great Crossing only losses 2 seniors. They return Vince Dawson 17.8 ppg, Malachi Moreno 16.0 ppg, Junius Burrell 11.1 ppg, and Gage Richardson 7.8 ppg. They will be the heavy favorites to win the region again. Lexington Catholic- Region Runner up. Lex Cath losses 9 seniors. They return Ryan Howard 4.4 ppg and Max Meagher 3.1 ppg. Frederick Douglass- Frederick Douglass losses 2 seniors. They return Armelo Boone 20.8 ppg, Aveion Chenault 12.5 ppg, DeMarcus Surratt 13.6, and Logan Busson 8.9 ppg. They will be the top contender to challenge Great Crossing. Henry Clay- Henry Clay losses 4 seniors. They return Jackson Stephan 14.5 ppg, Kayson Brown 11.3 ppg, Hassan Bush 10.0 ppg, and AJ Dixon 8.7 ppg. They will be a contender and should start the region 3rd in the preseason. Bryan Station- Bryan Station losses 3 seniors. They return Amari Owens 22.1 ppg, Taeshawn Adams 11.1 ppg, and Felix De Los Santos 6.5 ppg. They will be in the mix and a top 4 team preseason in the region. Others in the mix Madison Southern Sayre Franklin County Lexington Christian
  6. @Falcon Pride I think Moore will be a surprise in this region next season.
  7. So now that the season is over it is time to look ahead to next year. Everyone in the 6th Region losses a lot and it seems it will be a wide open region next season. You never know who will transfer where and what happens there will go a long way in determining who will be the favorites to win this region. Let's dive into what we know as it stands currently. Evangel Christian - 6th region champion. Evangel losses 5 of their top 6 scorers from last season. They only have 3 guys returning with any varsity experience. Davier White 8.5 ppg, Ben Mukadi 5.7 ppg and Andreas Conway-Jimenez 5.9 ppg. They do have a lot of young Kids in their program and will have to rely on some of them to step up and take on a much bigger role. Fairdale - 6th Region Runner up. Fairdale losses 8 seniors. They return Joseph Hurt 14.6 ppg and Blake Russell 3.8 ppg. DeSales- DeSales losses 7 seniors. They return Prince Kahnplaye 8.2ppg and Dembo Jawa 2.8 ppg. They will also have a new Coach. Jeffersontown- Jtown losses 6 seniors. They do return their 3 leading scorers which should make them the favorites in the region. Cameron McDaniels 17.7 ppg, Gabriel Rivera Cruz 9.1 ppg, and Damere Clark 7.4 all return. Moore- Moore losses 4 seniors. They return their leading scorer Dayvone Harrison 16.7 ppg and also Bruce Sweeney 7.3 ppg and Ellis Leslie 4.8 ppg. Other teams in the Mix Fern Creek Beth Haven Louisville Holy Cross Bullitt East Butler

  11. South Oldham, South Laurel, Web Dubois, Butler County, Adair County, Lloyd Memorial,Manual, Bryan Station, Newport, Boyd County, St. X, Woodford County, Taylor County all will be in the top 20 mix and have good teams coming back.
  12. I still like Evangel to advance as I picked when tournament started. I think officiating leaned in Harlan County favor in first half and that does worry me some.
