Lebron James signs with the Miami Heat!

But that doesn't mean people have to like his choice or his motivations for making a choice. Have you ever disagreed with a friend or relatives decision?

I understand what you're saying, I'm just saying that some people are taking "disagreeing" a little bit far and too the extreme.

How did LBJ sell himself short by going to play with another superstar? That's one thing that makes zero sense to me. If anything, he would have sold himself short by going to a bigger market with a less talented team, IMO.

Would Jordan have gone to play second fiddle to someone else? Would Kobe?

LeBron gave his seal of approval to every player that came through.(Ben Wallace, Shaq, Mo Williams, Jamison, re-sign Daniel Gibson, Big Z and Varejao). His fingers were on every deal that was made to try to make Cleveland better. Gilbert did everything LeBron asked of him so in that respect Cleveland's failures are partly LeBron's fault at the very least.

:thumb: He didn't mention that .

Of course he signed off on it, he wanted any help he could get because it would be better than what he had. Something is better than nothing, so if you think those guys you mentioned were the only guys Lebron wanted to play with and wouldn't want them to go out and get someone else of higher caliber then you are crazy. He signed off on it because they were moves they "could" make and Lebron wanted all the help he could get into Cleveland, too bad the guys you mentioned were the creme de la crem of guys who would actually move to Cleveland.

It says a lot about the pieces around you when you can offer up anyone on your roster (aside from James) and nobody really wants to take a stab and sending you anyone worth while. Toronto agreed once they realized Bosh was long gone and they would likely get nothing, but as with the usual case he (like most others) didn't want to play in Cleveland.

So LBJ takes the max deal from Cleveland and they continue to get average players to help their team win a title. The outcry at that point would've been that he's selfish and it's about the money. It's on Cleveland for not making the right decisions on GM's, coaches, AND free agents. No way management takes LBJ into consideration when making decisions, especially since they came out and said that he has ZERO influence on if they were keeping their old coach and who they are hiring.

They are acting like this wasn't possible. He didn't demand a trade, he was a FREE agent. That is how it goes.

FatHead.com is selling LeBron ones for $17.41. Why that much, you ask? It was the year Benedict Arnold was born and Gilbert owns Fat Head.

I will root against the Cavs nearly every chance I get. I know Gilbert doesn't care but.

Probably will still frequent Hollywood Casino even with one in my backyard too.

Hold on PP92. I know you love Kobe, and Kobe deserves a lot of credit for the first 3 championships, but that was Shaq's team and he certainly wasn't riding coatails. Maybe a little more so in Miami, but I think that is extremely unfair to him.

I am speaking of his post Kobe career. I should have been more clear.

Kobe stuck it out WITH THE FREAKING LAKERS! One of the best franchises in the NBA and one of the most successful franchises in all of sports.

Surely I'm not the only one who sees the irony in calling Lebron a prima donna and a self-centered jerk in the same breath as saying that this decision ruined his legacy...

People keep saying Kobe was demanding a trade. He stuck it out by staying correct?

Not once have I called LeBron any of those things. I just think he tarnished his legacy. He has plenty of time to prove me wrong.

Yep rough life sticking it out with the most successful franchise in all if basketball. Good thing Jeter stuck it out w/ the Yankees after Torre was shown the door.

Mostly Kobe haters are loving this and saying it will ruin his legacy. He has to win rings to be an all timer, but he can't do it with other good players. Nice logic. The deal is Kobe supporters know LBJ, Wade, and Bosh will win 2 of the next 3 then possibly the 3 after that. Kobe has one chance now and they know it. They should start tearing down LBJ now.

IMO, Kobe's one more chance has more to do with Phil than the Superfriends.

I'll be surprised if the Superfriends last 5 years. I wish the season started now. Can't wait until April.
